Yeah, everyone has gone off about their parents behind their back.
The point is that she was stupid enough to get caught and suffered the consequences for it.
And yes, as a parent, you can deny your child something they may think is necessary and not expect backlash because guess what? You're the parent. If the kid lashes out because of it, then they suffer the consequences of their actions and hopefully learn the lesson.
