You haven't upgraded in four years. I haven't bought a new Xbox 360 for five or six years. If I want to play an original Xbox game, I'll use the $120 xbox I bought eight years ago. PC gaming is certainly more convenient and I love it far more, but we're not talking about convenience. I've spent more on my PC in eight years time than I have my consoles. I spent more on my entry level $500 PC than I did on the last two generations of consoles.
Of course you've spent more on your PC counting it all together. It is a fact (unless you are an extremely rare person) that even if you didn't game on your PC you would still have a PC of some sort. The amount you have spent now - that PC would be less than what you would need to be a console gamer.
