Out of curiosity, do you enjoy any of the other series/films much?
Really slow response here, but... it's actually been a while since I've seen a lot of the series. They all have their own special brand of cheesiness. The only one I'm completely in the dark about is deep space nine, which sounds a little different (it has an overarching storyline, or at least appears to).
Short answer... I've seen a lot of the original series and the next generation, a little bit of the scott bakula one and voyager. I've watched a lot of the ones that I liked a lot.
Probably the worst in quality was... the scott bakula one. I'm not sure what exactly was wrong with it, but I think it had something to do with stilted acting/dialogue/scripting. Sometimes it felt like its intended audience was people who were thirty when the original series first aired and sixty when this one was produced.
The Next Generation grew on me. I love the characters, but end up pulling my hair out when episodes would start off okay and then the resolution would end up being a non-sequitur, completely nonsensical or just not believable. And always sooo convenient... I just deleted some potential spoilers and will just kinda let you gather your own impressions.
Voyager has the same issues with not as strong of a crew, but it feels campier (which makes up for it somewhat, gives it a different niche).
It's been a long time since I've seen the original series, but I really enjoyed it. It's dated as all hell, and funny to see the inherent racism/sexism/patriotism/religious standards of the era shine through. It's absolutely cheesy, and each episode's premise was pretty ridiculous, but they would always be resolved in believable and consistent ways. It's hard to explain. There was also pretty good acting sometimes, unless I'm just misremembering.
Original series movies were mixed (some very good), Next Generation movies were all bad.
Anyway, you can tell I've spent enough time watching this stuff with friends and family that it has a special place in my heart and I actually really have to recommend them if you've made it all the way through this post. So I guess it's bad, but lovably bad.

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.
