Just because you don't know that something happened on a conscious level doesn't mean you aren't affected. It's still terrible exploitation in the most sick and disgusting way. He literally blindfolded little kids and fed them his semen. There is no f***ing way you can say that "technically they were unaffected."
Although the article didn't really give that many specific details, we're kind of left to speculate on exactly how the "game" went.
He could have told them it was a game where they have to taste-test something, and guess what it is. From their perspective, they basically closed their eyes, and got a cookie or sugar. That doesn't sound like anything that would ruin their childhood, even on a subconscious level. Of course when they find out about this, it will.
I'm not defending the guy at all. Don't take that the wrong way. I'm saying that he needs to be punished and rehabilitated, no doubt about it. I was more commenting on the people who are worse than the teacher, who say stuff like "He needs to die" which would take this country in a worse direction than anything he did.
