The thing I said you don't do in each of those statements was the house rule.
So "no auctions" is a house rule, "go around the board once" is a house rule
Somebody mentioned stopping at first bankrupt. I think that used to be one of the "Short Game" rules but I don't think that exists anymore. You play until only one player is remaining in the standard game. Auctions are in the standard game, you can purchase property immediately, and Free Parking does nothing.
Ok so it looks like the only house rule I used regularly is free parking pot. I can't imagine not auctioning properties though, that was the best.
