These main character arguments are usually pretty silly, but I've never heard one that says the one you control is the lead. If you focus purely on the story, separate of the gameplay, who's the main character of FFXII? Vaan or Ashe? Perhaps I should have titled the topic using "player character" instead of "main character" as obviously the main character cannot be irrelevant to the story or he wouldn't be the main character.
