Bah, that's no good. A better way to tackle it would have been to just dedicate a portion of the list to 'names to know', AKA famous and respected composers (Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Jesper Kyd, the Follin Bros.) and include a few selections from them, a part to 'Great Soundtracks' (Chrono Cross, Umineko, maybe historical OSTs like Dune), and a part for simple 'Random Gems' (something from Thunder Force IV, something from Rocket Knight Adventures, a piece from Unreal Tournament, etc. etc. etc.). So you could give a complete newbie to videogame music an idea of artists to check out, games to give a listen to, and simply an idea of the kind of stuff you can find if you look beneath the surface. That might be too complicated, though?
