You people don't understand. The Obama vs. GOP candidate is using the current candidates. The Obama vs. Republican states thing is just going by the parties, and not by the specific candidates themselves. GOP candidate can be any of the 8 candidates listed and it won't change.
I just linked to data that suggests that it does change when GOP Candidate is replaced with Mitt Romney.
