Well ELO inflation is a possibility. If that's the case that just means you're a 1050-1150 player with a different number on him, though. Getting better is not in a number it's actually realizing how you can improve and then putting in the effort to do so. Even if you "get screwed by the match maker" you should be trying to figure out what's going wrong and how you can serve your team better-- carrying it outright if you have to.
Keep in mind that the ladder season is still young, though, so you do have a bigger influx of bads at higher ELO because less games total have been played and ELOs are more volatile. If it's still volatile, realize that and stay in pub-stomp mode until you're clear of the environment where feeders and leavers exist. I'm sure red and FD and etc will testify that they do stop at some ELO, even this season being as young as it is.
