#35:

Both combatants enter the Colosseum out of random spectator gates. The stadium is filled with naked old people and other horrible things that should be forbidden from view. The imaginary crowd is cheering for imaginary, ridiculously huge monsters while imaginary fireworks and laser light shows are making it impossible to focus one's attention of much of anything. SC and Luis know each other are there, and began walking among the stone benches, hoping to stumble upon the other.

As Luis is walking through one section, the crowd and the other rando distractions disappear in front of him in a circle that he is on the front edge of. Unbeknownst to him, SC has used a Sacred Incantation of Negation to remove the illusions. Confused, he steps back, but not before SC notices him initially and attempts to slash at him with the Sword of Distance. Unfortunately, Luis had stepped back into the "crowd," making him hard to track, and SC missed even without Accuracy Control being employed. Worse, SC has given away his general position to Luis now.

Both combatants now have a crude idea where the other is. SC figured Luis can't have gotten far from where he saw him and uses a Light Transformation in the general vicinity, which helps him spot Luis, but unfortunately at the same time Luis has used a Rain of Lava and Disappearance. SC realizes the danger and runs in a hurry before he gets dissolved by magma droplets, and loses his bead on Luis. The disappearance of the rain penetrates the illusion and the lava burns away the colosseum's stone seats.

The illusory crowd is running everywhere now, imaginary ravens are attempting to peck out Luis's eye, fake walls are in SC's path as he flees headlong through them, but loses his sense of direction and eventually stumbles on the seating of the next row up. Luis channels a Curse of Time and Barbs where he thinks he saw SC, slowing down everything nearby and creating massive metallic thorns. As SC recovers, he feels...heavy, wooden, like he is moving underwater. Things around him seem to have accelerated. His thoughts might be slower, but not so slow he can't deduce what is happening in what is (in real time) reasonable quick. He uses The Uncountable Imperial Castings of Time to enhance his speed to a much greater speed, not only compared to what Luis's hex has done, but compared to real time as well since the haste spell casts an uncountable number of times.

Some_Character starts to zip around looking for Luis, but hasn't accounted for the not-so-illusory barbs, which pierce his skin as he runs into them. As random Electrical Bolts are firing off in his general direction, he uses the Beast's Hand of Light to overwhelm the illusions, leaving him with a bit of clarity. The light also blinds Luis, who squints and aims one last electrical bolt at the shining beacon, but The Workings of Chaotic Mana cause it to discharge in his face instead.

Badly burned from the electricity, temporarily blinded, and at a serious speed disadvantage, it would appear that Luis would be screwed here, however Some_Character is also wounded and happens to be out of spells. SC charges at Luis ridiculously quickly and punches him across the face. Luis reels, and before he can even stagger to the ground, SC is upon him. Luis will be bludgeoned into submission if his next spell cannot make a difference.

He casts Accuracy Control, and Some_Character's punches miss spectacularly as Luis channels SC's fist into the stone of the colosseum itself instead. SC may be very fast right now, but the degree to which his coordination is lacking is ridiculous, as his body swings back and forth, and contorts itself, and he twists himself onto the ground, flailing back and forth in an effort to pick himself up unsuccessfully. Luis casts a great thunderous chain to leash SC tightly to the ground, and then alters his breathing until he suffocates.
