I think it's time to re-open the possibility that Mega Man gets revenge on Sephiroth for 2002 and 2003 if they were to meet again.
If Mega Man were increasing over even just maintaining the same level of popularity, maybe. But consider that 02/03 were some of Mega Man's most popular years as the series was in the middle of the very well received MMBN series and the Zero series had just begun. But Mega Man's gone down in popularity since then at a much faster rate than Sephiroth with nothing to rejuvenate him beyond Mega Man 9 and 10. Every single Mega Man series is on hiatus and/or dead right now and has been for a while.
