Can someone explain to me what all contributes to points and how many are gained? For both players and teams.
points for players is goals + assists
you get one point for contributing to a goal
if you have a game where you score a goal and assist on 2 more, you get 3 points
teams is different, it's used for the standings
you get 2 points if you win a game, whether it's in regulation, OT, or shootout
you get 1 point if you lose in OT or shootout
you get 0 points if you lose in regulation
