I'm powerlevelling too, Desco's 250's for me but Val's only 150. Just started... uh... well, the one after Fuka gets her storyline attack.

I am just near the end of Chapter 3. I think I m trying to level too many characters because now I seem at a disadvantage during every level. What are some good tips at this point in the game?
5-2 is the best training map; send a guy with 5 movement to the right, chuck the block to the left, destroy it, and then eat everything alive with... a party member you don't have yet probably >__>
Uhh, before then... powerlevel Val, boost your healer's Heal spell to where it becomes AoE, learn to cancel movement so you always get Fen's Evility active (+30% to all stats for standing next to Val is no joke at all)...
Easy way to get more experience; lower two monsters to near death. Throw one onto the other. Their levels will be combined so you'll get exponentially more experience, but their health will still be low.
Use skills as much as you can, it'll make them more powerful in the long run.
Magichange and Fusion gives experience for all parties involved; it's a great way to level monsters. The base monster in fusion gets their skill attack radius expanded and a human gets more skills with a magichanged monster.
Pass the More Expensive bill every time you can, there's almost no reason not to. Early on, it just diversifies your selection in goods.
When training, ALWAYS make sure whoever you're training (probably Val now, later on it'll be the other party member) is on both the training grounds and mana pyramid evil symbols. You'll be glad you did!
An easy way to get level 1 party members a few levels is to bring them out right before a match ends and you have a decent bonus gauge going. They'll get any +exp bonuses.
Go into the item world up to about level 11 of any item and you'll run into some pirates. Defeat them, Gency out (or go to level 20), and you can pass a bill which gives you pirates. Dunno if you've already got them unlocked, but I know people who've beat the main story and never got them, so just throwing it out there >__>
