what's the reason behind preferring an analog stick in the upper left of a controller? is that where your thumb naturally goes? after over a decade of DualShock use, I've been conditioned to place my thumbs where the sticks are.
The outsides of the controller are the "default" comfortable thumb positions, most modern games focus on stick over d-pad, so outside for the stick is more comfortable
also with FPSs especially, insides are kinda awkward. There you've got both thumbs on the sticks, and if both are inside, they're really close together and it's kinda weird
I've actually wondered about switching face buttons with the right stick and how that would be. It might actually be cool for FPSs, but we've got nothing to actually test it out yet - guess we'll find out with the Wii U though
