then i'll give you probably the king of these - Xenogears. there's a lot right with the game. it is not even close to the best rpg on the ps1.
...I think I'd agree, and probably put SotC in 2nd in this "category." Well, except for the PS1 RPG part, I haven't really played too many (excluding some ports, basically FF7-9, Gears, and Tactics) so I'd feel weird making that comment (That said I'd take FF7, FF8, and FFT over Xenogears out of that group)
