Match Three: ‘Lord of the Ring’ Diamond Dallas Page vs. Marcus Bagwell (MARCUS BAGWELL) in a Lord of the Ring match

Bagwell comes running down to the ring, ready for this match. Bagwell in control of this contest, and there is even a Bagwell chant. DDP finally gains control of the match, however and is able to stay in control for the middle part of the match. After a few hope spots for Bagwell, DDP wins with a Diamond Cutter.

Winner, and STILL Lord of the Ring: Diamond Dallas Page

Alright matchup. DDP is really being put over as of late. **¼

We go back to Mean Gene, who’s now interviewing Jimmy Hart and The Giant. The Giant seems to be still applying the baby oil to his body. There’s an image for you. Giant hypes up his match later on tonight against Lex Luger.

Match Four: Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Dean Malenko© for the WCW Crusierweight Championship

Mike Tenay joins Tony and Dusty on commentary. Neither man can take advantage of the other in the early going of this bout. However, things begin to turn to the champion’s corner as Malenko works over Rey Mysterio’s arm and elbow. Mysterio tries to regain control, but Malenko never lets up and continues to work over Rey’s left arm.

Mysterio tries to come back after a dropkick on Malenko, however Malenko hit’s a overhead belly to belly hammerlock suplex for a two. Malenko has Mysterio in an STF, but lets it go after a few seconds. Malenko then applies a Mexican Surfboard, then goes into a bridge on Mysterio, but Rey’s out after two.

Rey finally catches a break as Malenko goes tumbling out of the ring. Dean on the apron, but Mysterio hit’s a baseball slide to knock him down. Mysterio the kicks Malenko through the ropes and.. Springboard Sommersault off the top rope! Malenko was a good seven or eight feet from the ring, and Mysterio connected easily with that move. The crowd is finally awake for this.

Mysterio throws Malenko in the ring, and dropkick off the top rope for a two. Mysterio now on the apron and springboard hurricarana (or as Tony calls it, frankensteiner) for a two. Malenko looks to be trying to regain control and is on the top rope. He looks to be going for the gutwrench off the top turnbuckle, but Mysterio counters into another hurricarana. Two count on Dean Malenko. Malenko with an irish whip, Mysterio counters into a tilt-a-whirl for another two count. Rey goes for a third hurricarana, but Malenko reverses it into a powerbomb. He’s got his feet on the ropes and wins!

Winner, and STILL WCW Cruiserweight Champion: Dean Malenko

The crowd, who not ten minutes earlier were chanting boring, are now on their feet giving each man a standing ovation, and it is well deserved.

Beautiful bout that told nice story. Malenko tried everything he could to make Mysterio either tap out, stay down for three, or otherwise win this match, and when that didn’t work, he used the ropes to keep him down. An excellent matchup, and I can’t wait to see the rematch. ****¼

Mean Gene now talking to ½ of the Tag Team and World Television champion Lex Luger. Luger says that his mind is in the ring, and he is ready for The Giant.

Match Five: Big Bubba w/Jimmy Hart vs. John Tenta

After the great match I just saw.. This was definitely a change of pace. Slow match, bunch of punches and scoop slams. John Tenta picks up the win after reversing Bubba’s top turnbuckle move.

Winner by pinfall: John Tenta

DUD

Postmatch, Tenta looks to cut Hart's hair, but Bubba prevents that. Tenta cuts some of Bubba's goatee, and Bubba is freaking out. It's only a goatee man. Mine grows in after a month.
