Just for fun... analysing these. Initial kneejerks, not thinking about things like potential owners or arena situations.

New Jersey Devils (Quebec City)

I squirm a bit at the thought of NJ moving, too much history. But financially they probably are bottom 10. Quebec City is high on the list of places talked for relocating a team, could work in the Winnipeg model. Though if I'm the NHL I'm watching the Winnipeg experiment for a few more years.

New York Islanders (London, Ontario)

Southern Ontario could absolutely use a second team. Dunno if London would be my pick though, I'd want something in greater Toronto or Hamilton.

Anaheim Ducks (Seattle)

I always found it weird that a large northern city lacks an NHL team. Then again Seattle seems to have relatively low interest in sports for a city that size. Maybe if they got a good new arena for the NBA team they're more interested in attracting.

Carolina Hurricanes (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Um no, Halifax is like 400k people.

Dallas Stars (Kansas City)

WTF? Why would you move the Stars to... a city in the same general part of the country with less than half the population? Kansas City is even one of the better destination ideas here probably, but the Stars, really? Clearly the stupidest idea on this list.

Colorado Avalanche (Indianapolis)

You know what? I take that back. Remember when the Avs weren't missing the playoffs consistently? They had how many consecutive full-season sellouts in a row? MUST RELOCATE

Nashville Predators (Milwaukee)

Maybe if the Predators go into the tubes for a few years we can see how much of the fanbase they've built up leaves and have this discussion. Right now? Ha.

Columbus Blue Jackets (Cleveland)

I can see it but... Columbus is one of the largest markets in the US that only has one pro sports team though, not sure you want to give that up.

Phoenix Coyotes (Portland)

Uh sure, I guess.

Florida Panthers (Anywhere)

Wow, couldn't even think of a destination. How about Colorado or Dallas?
