"None of the above" is what I'd call the most reasonable response, since it lends to the more-likely scenario of multiple companies achieving multiple things aimed at different crowds.
You know, like what we have goin' on right now. I just can't really see a Sony-in-1999 level takeover happening again without some radical, radical changes to the gaming industry, which is instead leading elsewhere. And even Sony-in-1999 is a bit of a misnomer, because Nintendo was succeeding adequately with the N64 and an actual handheld and stuff, it's just that the PlayStation was outselling the Big N four-to-one worldwide.
