Y'all World fans are crazy! It's pretty much a carbon copy of SMB3, IMO... but SMB3 won handily in terms of difficulty, power-ups, and especially level design. World had the better soundtrack and... Yoshi, but that was it. It just felt kind of complacent and rushed, I think.
SMB3 and SM64 are good picks for sure, but I don't know. I just don't think they come all that close to SMB1. That's just platforming bliss in my book.
No way, man. World's level design and especially aesthetics were ace, just ace. It never felt remotely rushed to me and things like switch palaces and Star Road make the game much more enjoyable to me on replays.
