REGAINING THE HOME ADVANTAGE!
"Herp"
Score: 3/10

Okay, the new opening theme song... Eh. It's okay. Nothing special.

The heroes are walking along when they see a wild Magnezone smashing stuff up. They follow it to a town, where it continues to smash stuff up. They join forces with Officer Jenny, who literally does nothing the entire episode, and at one point Brock has to save her life. Magnezone can’t be stopped, but fortunately, a Metagross appears and fights it. Unfortuantely, they’re so strong that they start wrecking up the town. The heroes each send out their strongest pokemon to stop them, but Monferno, Happiny, and Mamoswine all get their asses kicked. By the way, notice something?

The heroes decide that this might have something to do with a nearby mountain using no logic at all, so they use Pikachu and Pachirisu’s thunderbolt and discharge on the sky to draw the wild pokemon to follow them to the mountain. There, they meet Chrispin, who patrols the mountain. Is that an actual job? Well, whatever. He explains that on the top of the mountain is a basin - normally empty, but currently full of water. This mountain is full of locations that give off "strange magnetic energy" that gets trapped in their bodies, so Magnezone and Metagross release that energy by battling in this basin. But since the basin is now full of water, they’re going into the town. Why aren’t they fighting elsewhere on the mountain? I don’t know.s

The heroes quickly find why the basin is full: a boulder has blocked a nearby river (on top of a mountain), which is causing the water to flow into the basin. They break the boulder, but the basin is still full, so the heroes have Buneary freeze the entire basin and Happiny lift all of the ice by itself,

And throw it into a nearby valley, where it no doubt falls on several hundred wild pokemon and kills them all. With the basin empty, the pokemon can now battle in safety. Ash is bored, so he has Gible use draco meteor for… some reason? And it of course hits Piplup and we actually get a whop-whop-whop-whooooooooop sound.

I actually had to cut out like a third of the episode from this write-up because it has so much padding. More padding than I’ve ever seen in a single episode. I mean, when your filler has filler, and you still need to draw things out by having Gible hilariously harm Piplup unprovoked, you need to go back to your creative writing class.
