i know fans in 'em all too, ltm. the strange thing i've found is that bronies... will generally also be more awkward and easier to redirect a conversation with to something else. i mean again, it's new, we have the internet. these things make a huge diff, over time it'll mellow out a bit and you'll get the more reasonable 'okay, different strokes' in more people. but star wars fans are among the hardest to deal with because they will also generally be older and know their way through a conversation. flip a coin on that one to see if the convo's gonna be okay or not. pokemon fans generally got knocked a peg at some point in their life over it, so they're more prone to getting the hint. it's been around for so long, some things have just either mellowed out or become accepted (like why i found yaoi on youtube without even trying).

doctor who is the same way as star wars, and a rapidly growing one that you'll hear more complaints about over the years.

homestruck... is more troll-y. but more importantly, are easily the more in-your-face category of the bunch in person, just by virtue of the cosplays being so damn basic that you'll find large portions of the cons to be made of them. that's the real strange one to the mix because it is 100% internet. the creation is online made, the fans are online made, so you've got the most possible diverse pool of people to work with.
