okay, water maps weren't as bad as i initially thought. got through them now without too much trouble and i'm about to do the desolate sands. currently at 15k damage (much of which is from attack speed x_x), 200 resists, 2300 armor (3800 with energy armor).
i haven't played with diablo 2 but i'm through most of a2 inferno and haven't felt compelled to use the ah yet so i can't say i agree with that article. water map lag aside, the game has actually been at its most fun when everything can kill me easily.
