That's like saying complaints about RPGs having a low difficulty aren't relevant because you can always do low level challenges or single character challenges.
I shouldn't have to intentionally limit myself for decisions to matter imhhho.
It's nothing like saying that. At all.
It's more like complaining an RPG is really easy because it gives you the option to use an overly strong character for boss battles.
You can play through the game with a specific skillset in mind, and successfully. You can also power-game it and make it easier. Both are valid, reasonable options.
