It still kills me how holding the sword by bladed part was a technique they used to hit with the blunt part of the handle. swords were sharp but not that sharp. the primary way to take out an armoured opponents was to thrust through gaps in the plate, they're not strong enough to cut through the metal, and hence they didn't need to be all that sharp on the edges. It would cut down unarmoured opponents with a slash, but armoured opponents need a stab thrust. A sword pommel swung hard enough if you don't have a hammer is going to be put major dents in it and really, really hurt, probably knock someone unconscious or at the very least disorient them with some ear ringing. --- You haven't set a signature for the message boards yet |

The irony is that, with English being a Germanic language, technically un- is a strong-negative; meaning unhoused is more negative than homeless.
