NGL, I always find it a tad disappointing when the top newcomer fails to make the top 10.
Kinda reflects a little poorly on what's been a good year, but at the same time we've seen cases where shows will go on to rise in later editions as more people pick up the show.
Bocchi is one of those shows you should pickup. When the hype for that season started, you had Chainsaw Man, Blue Lock, Bleach, S3 of Mob and Spy x Family Part 2, a reboot of Urusei Yatsura and Gundam.
A stacked deck, but Bocchi was that surprise sleeper hit that rose up the engagement rankings to become one of the hits of the season.

The similarities between the MC Bocchi and the virtual youtuber Minato Aqua are uncanny.

Huh, going off the MAL metrics, the original Haruhi series comes off as just another mid 2000s series.
and yet this might be one of the decade's most influential and era defining series.
It's a little sad that there are anime fans who have no idea what hare hare yukai, but dem's the breaks.
That said if only we could get a new season from KyoAni all would feel right again if only temporarily.

Rare show to have appeared in every contest and generally done well on each occasion.

This has to be one of the few shows where the MAL super high score catches the eye and leads people to checking it out.
There's not many outlets that would just promote a late 80s to mid 90s OVA series. But for the longest time this show ranked very highly on MAL.
But it's very much worth watching.

Though these days it's possible the new series has led some to check out the original series.
I also think LotGH is a good fit for a live action adaptation. But seeing how certain anime properties are currently being handled.
Maybe we gotta wait a bit longer for big budget adaptation. JP's strong suit is adaptating cheaper stuff while LotGH demands a grand scale.
