If she knows it happens and doesn't care, there's no point to keep talking about it.

The thing is that she does care and says she prefers knowing that not knowing even though she gets upset.

But I'm tired of her being upset because of that after I explained so many times that I want nothing with my ex. So, I'm thinking about just stop telling her whenever my ex talks to me

The thing is that I'm not meeting with my ex, I just respond to her messages when she says something. I don't even start a conversation with her, I just respond.

If I were to meet with her for some odd reason, of course I would tell my girlfriend, I would't be that stupid to do the same mistake twice. But responding to a message? That's just standard enough I think, even though I already told her several times that my ex texted me, now I think it's just nonsense having to tell her everytime my ex textes me.

I'll give you some background. I started dating my ex-girlfriend in September 2013 and we broke up on January 2015. I've started dating my current girlfriend in November 2015.

I love my girlfriend and I like her more than any other girl I've been with. But I've never hated my ex-girlfriend and we always respected each other even though we broke up. I'm not saying that we stayed friends, because staying friends with your ex is weird, specially when you're dating someone else. But from time to time she talks to me and I respond to her, nothing special.

Last year, she needed some held with her dissertation, she had to interview a few college students, and she asked if I could be one of them. I said "no problem", and went to meet her at our college and did the interview. Nothing special.

I didn't say anything to my girlfriend, which was a stupid thing to do since I actually was going to meet my ex in person for the interview. But I never thought she would find out. She found out in the most stupid way possible.

So, one time I logged on in my girlfriend's phone with my e-mail to search for something on youtube. Then she told me "I can't log out of your account, I've tried everything". I told her it was fine. But for some reason, she would get notifications of my e-mails that I received in that e-mail account. When my ex told me that she needed my e-mail address to send my the mp3 file of my interview (because she didn't understand one part), I told her the e-mail. My ex got the notification and asked my what was that (she saw the name of the file (tiago.mp3) and the sender (my ex's e-mail, which has her name, obviously). She was pissed (naturally) and for one week she was really sad with me. Of course that she will remember this forever, but still, time cures every wound, or at least at a certain extent.

After that incident, everytime my ex talks to me on facebook or something, I tell my girlfriend just to show her that I don't hide anything. She gets a bit upset, but she says she prefers this way instead of my hiding it.

But I really don't like how she gets when I say her this and gets all upset, it sucks and I think I could avoid this by just not telling her. I mean, I don't want anything with my ex. At all. So, if I don't tell her that she spoke to me like once every 2-4 months like she does, what's the big deal? I doubt that she would ever find out anyway.

What should I do? Should I keep telling her everytime my ex talks to me, or just keep quiet and move on?

And on what?

I still live with my parents and I'm currently working and earning 900€ after tax.

I usually spend on average around 300€ a month.

27€ - playing soccer twice a week (8 times a month)
36€ - gym membership
100€ - gas
100€ - having lunch 22 business days a month at the cafeteria
50€ - other random expenses like going out for a drink or dinner

I manage to save almost 600€ a month, which is nice. But I'm thinking about moving out my parents house soon and when I do and if I manage to keep the same lifestyle, I'll probably be able to save around 200€ a month.

I think it was the year I took off (just didn't go to school) in 4th or 5th grade and just worked a bit (enough to make money for food), ate Pizza Hut Pizzas every day while watching TMNT on tv, and bought a ton of mint chocolate chip icecream that I would munch on as well.

I was pretty happy that year I think.

Wait, you had a job in elementary school?

Yeah, that is how I fed myself (and my brother at that point). He got put in the system when I was 11 (he was 9), because he was acting out at school. My dad left when I was 2 (when my brother was born), and my mom was in and out of mental institutions. Until I could work I lived off school lunches (would save up the tabs on days it was food I couldn't eat like egg salad sadwiches and get 2 the next day).

By the time I was in 4th grade I found under the table jobs I could do to make cash. Still remember the first time I had enough cash to just go into a mc donalds and buy as many burgers as I could eat, it was glorious.

By junior high I had a job through young life working at Great America, and before that I would work at Camp Mendicino during the summer (first at the archery range then when I got smart the next 2 years, in the kitchen as you got extra food).

I often felt like I missed out as a kid not having parents and having to work, but honestly after hearing so many people complain about their parents, I think I actually made out. Never had any rules or people telling me what to do, and could eat whatever I wanted.

It was certainly a different way to grow up, but it worked for me I guess. I graduated on my 16th birthday (3 years early) AND skipped a year (4th or 5th, didn't go for the whole year but I tested so high they had me just advance anyway). Was making more then most people who graduated from 2 years of college by the time I was 17 (and saved half of everything investing in EE bonds which had insane interest back then (13% or so).

Kinda always felt bad about missing the high school experience though, but enough people said it blows/is boring etc that I got over it.

And why?

Mine was 2015.

- I went to 9 different countries due to my exchange program in my master's degree;
- Had my last summer without having to work, and went to the south of Portugal for 10 days with some friends
- Started dating my current girlfriend in November 2015;
- Had sex with 3 different girls in one year (my ex girlfriend of 1.5 years in January (before going to Belgium), a girl I've dated during my exchange program and my current girlfriend). It's weird if I think about it, because 2015 it's the year I had sex with all the 3 women I had sex in all my life - yes I lost my virginity in 2013 when I was 20.

I lost it at the age of 20, kind of late for today's standards. It actually went well for a first time, but I've never admitted to my ex that I was a virgin back then XD

You have no experience and no current job, two negatives for you right now. Both of those would be gone if you take the second job and in 10 months or so, you could start looking for another job, and probably get much better offers. If you did not find one, you would likely be able to extend your contract and get a significant raise, probably making more over 2 years from the second job than the first.

I'd say go with the second job for sure. It'll get you experience without locking you in for 3 years. In this case a longer contract is really not in your interest (as they are locking you in at a low wage).

Also you seem to generally prefer the second job, which in my opinion is WAY more important then money any day.

Yeah, I agree, I'm thinking in accepting the second one.

Why is the pay so little?

Cost of living is significantly cheaper there.

Cost to rent for instance is about 350-400 US dollars for a 1 bedroom.

I'd say it's about equivalent to getting around $2k in the US as far as how far it would go.

Still not a ton mind you, but not absolutely horrible for a entry level position.

You can actually rent a whole appartment with 2 bedrooms for 400$, it depends on the area of course, but it's possible and not that rare to find.

But yeah, we still earn little when compared to other countries such as Germany for example. I don't know about the US

I have a bachelor's degree in business administration and currently finishing my master's in economics.

I've applied to a few companies, but in the end, it comes down to two possibilities. Both should be to start next month, on the same day.

1) - The first offer is to do project investment analysis on the field of agriculture for the portuguese government. The wage is around 1000€ after tax a month (about 1150$). It's a 3 year contract.

2) - The second offer is to do management control related activities on a big public transportation company. The wage is around 900€ after tax a month (about 1000$). It's a 1 year contract.

The thing is, I think that I will learn a lot more on the second offer, even though I might get more stability in the long run on the first offer. And since I'm 24 years old and don't really have that many experience in management control (I've done project investment analysis for 6 months last year) and since companies tend to hire more on the field of management control rather than project investment analysis, I think I should choose the second one.
I also think that I can get both contracts extended if I do good, at least I think so. And, on both offers, I would be able to earn more over the years, although I think I could start to earn more on the second offer more quickly. But then again, it's a shot in the dark, I think in the first offer it's more likely for me to get my contract extended.

What do you guys think?

PS: Keep in mind that this is in Portugal. Those wage amounts are really bad in the USA for sure. But here, it's not bad at all for someone with little experience.

Would you rather not be able to taste sugar or salt?

This is just a "would you rather question", you would still be able to get all the nutrients your body needs, this is just the taste we're talking about.

I actually never was a "sugar" type of guy, I could go a full year without eating ice cream for example. It's not that I don't like it, it's just something I don't crave for. It would suck not being able to taste any sugar at all, such as sugar in fruit for example, but I can't imagine eating all other types of food without salt.

EDIT: I actually wrote "suger" on the option, I don't know what happenned, how embarassing...
