There's Promi, which is used as well. That's the "official" word, whereas Star is the "actually used" word. E.g. I'm a celebrity, get me out of here is translated as Ich bin ein Star, hol mich hier raus, whereas a news broadcast would use Promi

Not necessarily. But you do need general mathematical understanding

We covered both within a single class: "advanced mathematics 2". I definitely had more trouble with LA then DE. That said, many of my friends in that class said the opposite.

(Advanced Mathematics 1 was fundamentals of analysis, and 3 was statistics and PDEs)
