I don't fit the bill when it comes to masculinity in some ways. I have a high pitched voice and some effeminate mannerisms. I don't care, I know I'm male and no one can tell me different.

Why do people gatekeep masculinity? If I had to guess I'd say gender roles played a huge role in history and many people were brought up to believe in fulfilling them to the point of insecurity. That doesn't explain why it's unique to men though, for that I have no answer :/

Are they wage vs your salary? Production can make more than management where I work, but they work way more hours.
Both have set monthly pay for a certain amount worked per month (for me 40, for them 42.5 hours)

I'm an assistant production manager, but I don't have a production manager, so I end up doing the work they would do. One of the production workers allegedly makes the same pay as me, even though he dropped out of college and I have a Master's.

I'm happy he makes such great money, but doesn't that mean I should be making more? Or is it because I'm a "mere" assistant manager on paper?
