Save manually. A. LOT. Game tends to crash pretty often, and some quests do bug out, so keep a decent number of spaced back up saves (5 or more). 3. Energy weapons are good. Wasn't too big in the media back then, and the local culture kinda just grouped it in with being transgender (mahu). Liked girls, and had 3 or 4 crushes up through 8th grade. Started noticing boys in that way sometime during 8th grade, and it escalated all through my freshman year. Was seriously crushing on a bunch of dudes by my sophomore year. Was very depressing. Despite the school being very lgbt friendly, I still hid my feelings, mainly because I didn't want to disappoint my parents.
