I don't know when the book was finished but that takes time and then adapting it takes time. They're never going to pass up an opportunity to tap back into a popular franchise and there's no such thing as too late. Just look at Avatar. It took Jim Cameron 35 years to finally make the sequel.

It really is just a case of Trump yet again breaking the party. Ever since Democrats tied Trump and Russia together, Republicans have decided that Russia isn't that bad.

This is exactly what it reminded me of. If you ever think any celebrity is a normal down to earth kind of dude, remember that they are pretty much all, secretly or not, crazy or dumb as shit. It's just the kind of personality Hollywood attracts/creates.

I'll give you credit for not thinking Black Panther is great. I know I'm in the minority but I think it's bottom of the barrel. Other than that, you're gonna tell me Ant Man and Doctor Strange are at least 8/10? They are both the definition of middle of the road. No ones favorite movies. Also, let's not forget that Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are in Phase 2. And as much as I think they're full of shit, a lot of people hate Avengers 2 for whatever reason. So phase 2 has, at best, a 50% hit rate. Phase 3 is around 50% as well including what I mentioned above.

Outside of Thor 4 (even the hate for it is overblown) I cannot comprehend most of the hate any of the phase 4 movies get. Black Widow is a bit uneven but the core family drama and actor chemistry easily carries the movie. Eternals has a lot going on but, again, the core story is some super cool golden age scifi stuff. MoM, I think people just had wild expectations for what they thought the movie was and are upset at the movie for some reason for being wrong.

Go rewatch phases 1 and 2. 3 is only a contender because it's twice the size of the other two. It's still got it's share of misses.

^People love shitty old games now. The indie scene has been built entirely around replicating shitty old games for over a decade.

I've only ever seen one, didn't know they were common or even still around. Haven't been there in almost 20 years but I remember it being pretty good. We only ever got the barbecue chicken pizza which was great and isn't something you really see often.

The ip is super hot right now and it would be really easy for them to just shine up 1,2,3, and CV and release them together. The remakes are great but the originals haven't been easily available on modern hardware for years. A few of them already got the HD treatment but even which ones were chosen and what system they went to has been kind of random. Seems like an easy way for Capcom to earn a quick buck.

The reboot was pretty much all shock factor.

Companies should be forced to reverse the gradual increase in serving sizes. A medium soda should not be half a liter. No one will notice if companies slowly shrink those back down to a reasonable level. Also decrease the added sugars and sodium that don't actually do anything for the food.

Yeah, that movie was a blast. People have had a real bug up their ass since Endgame and I have no fucking clue what they're on about. Phase 4 was easily consistently the best phase and Phase 5 is starting off pretty strong.

Surprised so many people are saying Scream. The first two are the only good ones. 4 is fine and 3 and 5 are dreck. Haven't seen 6 yet but I don't imagine it's much better than 5.

The reboot trilogy was fine. There were plenty of, ahem, less than stellar entries in the series long before them (6, Resurrection, and Rob Zombie's Halloween II are all easily at the bottom of the list).

6 is really the only terrible one. Resurrection is full camp and borders on so bad it's good and I will defend the zombie movies til the day I die. They aren't traditional Halloween movies but you can't deny Rob has a style of his own and they do exactly what they set out to do even if it's not what people wanted. 2018 is decent enough but has wild tonal shifts and the partial reboot aspect feels unnecessary. The other two are completely embarrassing jokes.

Was gonna say Halloween has a fairly solid track record for such a long running series but then I remembered the reboot trilogy.

Are we acting like either of these were ever consistently written?

I mean, people have been asking for this since launch, but Cyberpunks recent rebound definitely wouldn't get the wheels rolling on another DE so soon. If anything, it's previous controversy would make the publisher second guess making a cyberpunk game. We can only hope it's second life does convince the publisher to make one in the near future

I do. I love the MCU and am looking forward to a lot of stuff coming up. I'm also excited to see James Gunn unfuck the DC movies.

It's not that the EU wasn't canon, it was that anything in the EU was given the caveat that it could be ignored should Lucas choose to do something that contradicts it in the future. There were even certain subjects that weren't allowed to be used for stories because Lucas wouldn't allow it. So everything in the EU was canon until it wasn't and then Disney came along and the "wasn't" happened for all of it.

Since there still seems to be confusion about this. The only thing officially decanonized after the Disney buyout was the Force Unleashed games. Although one of them is a great game it's no great loss to the Star Wars story. Lucas gave the stamp of approval for people to play in his sandbox but did not accept anything else as part of it.

It's literally just the modern rebranding of SJW. It's expansion into the more mainstream in the past year or so has just diluted it so that people are just yelling the word at each other with no context.

No big players will get directly involved with either side unless absolutely "necessary". Funding a proxy war is much easier and more acceptable militarily, financially, and socially than putting boots on the ground.
