But seriously they completely gutted this card away from even it's original intention. A better nerf idea I saw on reddit was switch your hand and deck with your opponent but switch BACK at the end of your turn. So you still get to play your opponents cards but they don't skip their next turn if you're playing aggro.

Oh I meant you auto lose to Warlock if you're playing Control/Rush Warrior. Shadow Priest vs Warlock was pretty much a guaranteed win and I wasn't even running Bonechewer Brawler.

One of my losses was actually to a Control warrior running the rush package so yeah that makes sense. I don't feel like enough people are playing Shadow Priest from D5 to legend to justify playing that deck though since you auto lose to Mage/Warlock.

Just hit legend with Shadow Priest. Basically a guaranteed win against Warlock and Mage but very hard matchups against Shaman, Paladin, and Taunt Druid.

Dumping your hand and playing Illucia might be my favorite awful thing to do in Hearthstone.

There was also a game with Gandling where I played him on turn 3 with two 0 minions, played raise dead and then played the 0 minions again. So I summoned a 3/6 and four 4/4s on turn 3. Maybe the most oppressive opening in standard right now but it's crazy rare to actually happen.

Started getting tilted by Paladins on ladder and decided to try out a regular Control Warlock from the last expansion.

For the love of god do NOT try this if you ever want to play Hearthstone again.

(didn't run into a single Paladin btw)

This mode seems pretty easy if you just treat it like a nuke event. If you have 2 nukers you're guaranteed to get one of them on turn 4 and turn 5.

Last game all of the top 4 were playing Razorgore + Whelper

I won because mine was 72/1201 and the others were in the 400 to 600 range. My game crashed and I didn't even get to see the final combat though. How did they remove the frog so quickly but leave this in the game?

That looks like good positioning to me but yeah I would have put the Baron in I think.

There's a bug with Rattlegore and the new card that gives +2 health to dragons when they gain attack. For some reason it's giving him way too much health. I had a golden health giver and a regular and he was getting like 200 health a turn with 4 dragons on board.

Swordz you're crazy you have like 500+ kais don't you? The support for this game is going to end and you're going to have 2000 kais sitting in your box.

I have 100 kais in my box and about 50 type kais and I never have issues using kais on new units.

Nice try but we know Arm builds are dead now with that nerf. How do you expect to pull off a reasonable Mech Arm build (or any Arm build) now that she has 4 health instead of 5?

Damage cap is pretty cool but my gut feeling is that it's not enough yet. We'll see though!

Also one of the devs on twitter confirmed that Avenge can trigger multiple times. Hopefully the animation is quick because it's going to be triggering a lot.

Also with that confirmed this new card is actually nuts:

Avenge is a very interesting keyword and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Very notable cards being removed:

Toxfin - no more poison murlocs unless you get the new avenge one!

Tormented Ritualist
Qiraji Harbiner - No more scam taunt builds in the early game!

Faceless Taverngoer - No more easy triples with this fella :-(

Pack Leader - early beast builds need to rely on avenge for tokens instead of big attack buffs?

Junkbot
Waxrider Togwaggle - Something about losing to these cards in the early/mid game always felt lame because you knew the guy was going to fall off hard in like 3 turns

Tide Razor - no more getting highrolled by boat and taking 25 damage!

ALSO Holy Mecherel made me actually laugh out loud that they printed this card again and the pun name. No poisonous is weaker but new divine shield buffs make it interesting.

That's how I feel about GT Goku after using him for the first time. Yeah he's a nuker but he's getting like 4mil+ damage stats at 55%.

And yeah the new LR Goku is crazy IDK how the Reddit thought he was underwhelming. My original critique was that it sucks he only stacks defense on his 12 ki but with additionals it actually ends up stronger that way! Also both new LRs have mega-colossal damage on their 12 ki supers which is new for an LR. That's why they do so much damage even with 12 ki supers.

Goku has 5 phases and the first 4 fights are honestly pretty easy so it's still probably worth it to just bring DEF stackers to beat him. My Full Power team got wrecked by phase 4 because I was not prepared for so many phases.

Beating it with 6 extreme Planet Namek Saga characters seems impossible without double LR Freiza though

Goku stacking defense on his 12 ki kinda sucks because you're not going to want to launch his 18 ki for harder events.

Other than that I think the LRs sound very good. The active skills suck but at least they're not a transformation or something.

Kinda bored with the meta so I'm trying weird decks like Lady Prestor Warrior and it really brings out what I hate about Hearthstone and card games in general. I can't speak for everyone obviously but I think if you're not playing meta decks you're just not going to have any fun. You can sit and make silly decks all day but you're going to lose every game if you ever try to actually play with them.

If I'm playing Street Fighter I can go into ranked matches with any character and have fun and win matches because of my ability. But in Hearthstone I feel like matches are 90% decided by your deck and 10% by how you actually pilot that deck.

Even in other games like Runeterra I can feel like I'm actually making choices in a game and I can recognize misplays but with Hearthstone you just have to hope you draw the cards you need when you need them. The entire strategy in Hearthstone is resource management but lately it's more about quantity than quality of resources.

At the end of the day what do I really enjoy about playing this game? It's not deckbuilding, it's not a test of skill like Street Fighter, it's not a game of wits, so what is it? Sometimes it feels like a coinflip simulator with more steps which is also why I quit solo queue Dota 2.

I'm not exactly saying anything new here and this is basically just a late night ramble but I'm starting to feel the same things I felt the last time I quit Hearthstone. Has anyone else quit Hearthstone and come back or had thoughts of quitting?

Yeah that was actually my 2nd TEQ Broly dupe, 4th Goten/Trunks dupe, and 1st SSJ3 Goku dupe. I also would have preferred some new LRs but I can't complain about pulling 3.

All 3 of these pulls were actually from the 7 ticket summons too. When I did my first 50 pull I had Hercule riding Buu which I thought meant it was another LR but nope.

I can't really see them doing any combo of Gohan/Vegeta/Krillin for the Part 2 LR just because I'm doubtful of the hype they'd generate unfortunately. Maybe Vegeta but he was the Part 2 LR for last year's WWC (Buu Saga Vegeta but still).

So the only other options are Nail, Ginyu, Dodoria or Cui which also seems unlikely. I'd love to be surprised but I can't see them doing any of these cards for an LR!

I mean Trunks is a long shot too but IDK.

Just had a battlegrounds game with Brann Murlocs and I did not see a single poison murloc in 12 turns. I had 5 or 6 primalfins, 2 Hamuuls, and tons of spins. It feels almost impossible/bugged to not see that card once with as many chances as I had but that's RNG I guess.

Only card I need from the right side is INT Gotenks but I need TEQ Buu and TEQ SSJ2 Vegeta from the left side so that's the banner I'm going to prioritize I think. If I pull a copy of Vegeta I'll probably switch to the right side banner because the dupes have a lot more value there.

That flurgl change seems pretty cuckoo to me. Super easy triples in the early game and now you can actually play good minions early and still transition to murlocs later.

I like all of the nerfs but it kinda feels like instead of dying on turn 6 you're going to die on turn 8 now. Sure that's two more turns but is it really going to make a huge difference?

They obliterated OTK DH though with a 2 mana nerf on Illy. I think if these questlines were a year old they'd be getting obliterated too instead of slight nerfs on mostly old cards.

It's just ridiculous that you have to clear EVERY enemy against paladin or else you're going to potentially take 20+ damage the next turn. It's like shaman going wide every single turn for the whole game back when bloodlust existed and then eventually they drop 12/12 divine shields too.

More whining:

People are upset that mage can do 25+ damage from hand after completing their quest.

If Paladin manages to stick two 1/1s on the board (pretty easy with divine shield) then on turn 7 they can do 28 damage with battlemaster and two convictions without a quest.

The devs say that they don't know how to make 10 mana cards anymore because they need to basically win the game at that mana cost. I'm not saying this card should be 10 mana but honestly I think it would still see play at 7 mana. Maybe even 8 mana!

Hit my limit today with this expansion and I'm just going to play Quest Mage until it's nerfed at this point. I've tried about 10 different decks and the only thing that felt even a little good was OTK DH.

When I try aggro I lose to Paladins with 16/16 divine shield taunts on turn 7 or my board gets frozen/cleared by Mage/Warlock until they finish their combo and demolish you.

Control doesn't exist so the only other option is to play OTK/combo decks and hope you're faster than your opponent.

As I'm typing this I played a game as quest mage against aggro Shaman. He drew pretty well and I literally froze all of his damage dealing minions every turn until I cleared them with AOE and fire. I played Dawngrasp on 7 mana and I had 33 health left.

I know people are having success with aggro and other stuff but good lord this game just feels MISERABLE right now if you're not playing this deck. But now I suspect I'll run into mage counters and tilt myself into oblivion so let's see how it goes I guess.

Oh yeah goal scoring feels AWFUL most of the time. It's especially bad after Zapdos when the goal is open. You stand there and hold X and you can't tell if you're actually doing anything for .5 seconds then BAM you score. Of all the things that need to be instant why is there a delay on that?
