The property damage risk alone is incredibly nerve wracking. My nextdoor neighbor had a tenant that actually paid on time each month, but ended up doing over $20,000 plumbing damage to the house (negating any shred of actual profit). Even with good insurance, the risks are huge. --- Money is overrated... |

I thought he is some sort of senior mechanical engineer and this landlord ordeal is just a way for him to generate an extra inflow of money. Or (as was in my case), you're trying to move out of a devalued condo / home that won't sell, and are forced to lease it out to avoid foreclosure. At least property values are up now, so if there's land involved, selling might be a legit option. But, to TC's original statement, being a landlord does indeed suck. A good, reliable tenant is becoming a rarity. --- Money is overrated... |

Definitely the last one. Literally nobody else on earth had camcorders at that point. She built it herself with aluminum cans, window shards and 6 AA batteries. Poor taste aside, I actually did get to go inside the World Trade Center IN 2001 (less than 3 months before the attack). We were on a school trip, and our German teacher (who was filming random moments from the trip with an old camcorder) walked slowly around the observation deck filming the whole perimeter. We gave her a hard time on the ride home as we watched the video, since nearly 30% of the video was just her slowly walking around that observation deck (thinking uggggh, not this boring-ass footage again).
