I would have claimed he was cheating had he not been standing right next to me where I could see everything he did. That was one great thing about arcades as opposed to modern online multiplayer. You couldn't accuse someone of cheating, since you were both playing on the exact same machine (generally speaking). Of course, the later NFL Blitz games had those three-icon cheats you could put in if you were fast enough on the loading screens (Mortal Kombat had the same ability). Generally, when I've seen people give the "All part of God's plan" statement, they're referring to the Judeo-Christian "God," and that he's allegedly sovereign and omniscient (so he has a perfect plan, and the power to carry it out), but we also have a free will. A plan is just that..., a plan. It doesn't guarantee results. It just establishes a framework. Plans can be adhered to, or disregarded. Just because people rejected him, doesn't mean he planned it (though he certainly wasn't surprised by it, being omniscient and all). The thing is, we're sorta in a pickle here. Either he can 1) downright FORCE you to believe in him according to his perfect little plan (at the cost of your own free will), or 2) he can let you do whatever the hell you want (at the RISK that you jack up his perfect plan). After all, I can make the greatest plans imaginable all day long, but if people disregard them those plans become useless. That's just my two cents. --- Money is overrated... |
