#4 - Guy Gardner
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/8/6/7/AAOJ0pAADYCD.jpg

Guy Gardner, the most contentious Green Lantern in the entire Corps. Its almost a miracle that Guy Gardner has lived as long as he has, since everywhere he goes, mayhem and chaos is sure to follow. Guy Gardner, a handpicked replacement Lantern for Hal Jordan, started his life as a University of Michigan graduate and special education teacher, but he eventually wound up a full-time superhero. If you listen to Guy Gardner tell the story, he was the runner-up to Hal Jordan in Abin Surs fateful lottery, coming up short only by a hair to the so-called Greatest Lantern who ever lived. The truth seems murkier than that, but when Hal studied the history of Abin Sur, he did come to one crucial realization - Abin Sur hadnt planned for a replacement should things have gone awry. Hal took that heart, and he began studying Abins own records, learning of Guy Gardners near-inclusion into the Corps. Hal decided that, should something happen to him, he wanted a replacement prepared to face whatever evils plagued him, and thus, Hal inducted Guy Gardner into a probationary status with the Corps. Guy was the first ever replacement Lantern, and the arrogance that welled inside of him from this dubious honor would only swell as he made greater strides within the Corps.

Wwhether as a Green Lantern or - more recently - as the Warrior, having discovered that he possesses a Vuldarian heritage that allowed him to transmogrify his body parts into organic weapons, Guy also possessed, for a short period of time, Sinestros ring, capable of wielding it just as skillfully as a regular Lantern ring. More recently, however, his body began to reject his Vuldarian DNA, and Guy nearly died as his body turned itself inside out on the same day that Coast City reappeared. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, Guy was being prepared by Hal Jordans spirit to return to active duty with the Green Lantern Corps, and for the last several months, Guy has relished his time as one of the senior Green Lanterns, taking his opportunity to lord it over anyone who will listen, whether it be those on Earth or those in space.

Guy Gardner is your enemy. Not because he thinks he's your enemy, but because YOU think that if he isn't your enemy, he's kind of a bad person. But you only think that because he's rude, offensive, callous, overly loud, obnoxious, and maybe a little sexist, homophobic and racist. And then you start to peel back the layers, and the slick, slimy veneer begins to fade as you realize beneath the color and is a man. A humie man with convictions and a quiet character that, while intensely, intensely flawed, maybe has purpose in the universe. And you start to maybe, maybe, just MAYBE, come to accept that Guy... might have a heart after all. He's the quickest to ally with the party. Hell, he put the party on ice simply because he knew that their words might shake the Guardians from their Sinestro-instated stupor. And you know what? It worked, for the next thing we know, a single Guardian broke from their plurality... and change their mind. Their own mind. Not all of the minds of the Guardians, no. Not a solution. But the hints, the stirrings, of something greater.

Just look at the tale of Ice, or the story of Gal Gardner. Or listen to Lanterns who otherwise have no strong attachments in the Corps. As it turns out, Guy Gardner is a patient, kind man when it comes to a Lantern like Rot Lop Fan, whose inability to see has left him an unintentional outcast among the Corps. In fact, it's Rot Lop Fan that sings the praises of Guy Gardner most highly. After all, as it turns out, Guy Gardner spent the first years of his career teaching special education. Of all things, Guy Gardner is a teacher, a gentle cultivator of potential. You just have to know where to look.

Guy Gardner remains every bit as horrible as you all believe. But he may, may, MAY just be the hero you need, in the moment. There's a fragile heart there. Maybe even a compassionate one. It just takes a little bit of patience to find. But the finding it... might just be worth it.

Top three - the final trio.

Fastbreak giveth and Fastbreak taketh away. After being left for dead following a botched hit on her fiance, Peyton Riley dragged herself to the hospital, believing Scarface, the puppet of the Ventriloquist, had done so. So attached to the persona of Scarface was Peyton that Neron gifted her a magical living Scarface in exchange for her soul. Peyton, however, was released from the deal when the puppet was destroyed by Fastbreak. Incarcerated in Arkham Asylum, Fastbreak quickly became an obsession of Peyton thanks to his consistent visits. But over time, he stopped visiting, stopped caring. When Peyton escaped Arkham in the Society Breakout, she had found a new puppet and a new purpose - to show Fastbreak that she would not be so easily forgotten. Now, she seeks to grow her cell in the Society, from Baltimore, all the way to Washington, where she knows Fastbreak worked with the Cluemaster. And neither she nor Socko will be stopped. You gotta be careful where you cast about your forgotten toys, Xander. The consequences of your actions can change everything.

Veridium

Hes no Will Magnus, but David Magnus has resolved to serve as repairperson and caretaker of his brothers greatest creations, the dormant Metal Men. Veridium has clearly unresolved issues with his brother, but he has set them aside for the time being in resolution to help stand against the tyranny of Darkseid. A constant source of authority in the Robotics Annex, and honestly, one of the more interesting unexplored parts of Z'onn Z'orr. There certainly are the faint stirrings of a... let's call it jealousy in Veridium for his rival brother. That's a phrase for it. How will that sibling rivalry continue to evolve as the story of Magnus becomes more and more impactful on the party's aims?

Vyndktvx

Within the nation of Badhnisia lay a door. And through that door lay the Fifth Dimension, in the throes of its own crisis - the Mital Crisis: Unlimited! The MCU was a terrible thing, a video game world where the rules of logic were replaced with the laws of video game logic, all of which were controlled by the powerful, wild and unpredictable imp Vyndktvx. But imps and djinns alike must still adhere to certain strictures, and while outsisde of the doorway, Freddy and Alice waged war alongside the ancient Lords of Order and Chaos against the Spectre, T'charr and Terataya, within, a pitched battle against Vyndktvx was carried out in true QTE fashion. Ultimately, the creature was trapped within a djinn's wishing pen, and in exchange for a promised eventual release, Vyndktvx promised to imbue Freddy with some of his powers - powers that could alter the laws of nature itself. And thus, Freddy's Captain Marvel gained the ability to manipulate plants, trees, the life essence of the Green itself.

Varra de Luca
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/7/6/2/AAUHRBAAEgwq.png
Lover of Count Vertigo and mother to Checkmate agent Brennus Vertigo, Varra de Luca apparently never truly gave up her pledges to Ras al Ghul, and as a result, around the time of Brennus magical development, Varra apparently tried to participate in yet another territorial war between his daughters. Rumor is that she allowed Ras to be killed, and after that point, its anyones guess as to where she went or what she was up to. One thing was for sure - both she and Vertigo played some sort of ill-defined yet important role in the development of the Society, and the pair of them may be key in understanding what happened in a world under Darkseid. By the time the first hints of answers were to be had, Brennus encountered his mother in a park at the center of Chicago, where he tried to bring her home. Instead, he discovered her to be the Prime Fury of Chicago - a powerful, ruthless, cruel being that beat her son, mocked him, and warned him to never return to the city.

#5 - Scar
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/5/4/AAQcMAAADdRy.jpg
It would be easy to argue that Scar could reach #1 by the end of this campaign.

The scarred Guardian, who has taken to referring to herself as Scar, is a Guardian of the Universe who was wounded by the Sinestro Corps in their attack on Oa. As the Guardians themselves begun to succumb to more fleeting emotions, Scar recognizes the danger of the judgment becoming clouded, and despite supporting her siblings initial decisions made against the interests of the Earthling castaways arriving on Oa, Scar believes that there is wisdom in the words of the Checkmate agents. As such, she has offered a very limited amount of assistance to Earths Lanterns, promising more in the future, including the offering of missions outside of the Corps purview. Even in their unfortunate relegation to the social outskirts of Oa as individuals possessing the black mark, Scar remains ever vigilant, slyly and subtly providing support towards the Terran refugees - and only in exchange asking for some semblance of understanding as to the emotions she's been given. In return, Roz'etta has stared into fire, Data 7 has offered her PIXIE SALVE... the list goes one. The scarred Guardian may be the only sliver of hope the party has in reaching the Guardians where they live and affecting any sort of change in their mindset.

I am absolutely enamored with the Guardian who may just be equal to the task of saving the Earth. There's something about Scar, isn't there? She's felt the sensation of fear, been burned by the hand of Sinestro, and now something within her has been birthed. A kernal of emotion. A sensation of independence. The collective of the Guardians is disrupted, and Scar may be the only Guardian to see it coming. Thus, she has broken with her brethren, opting to, in some small intertwine her fate with the Earth Lanterns and the new refugees.

What I hope people come to love about Scar is her muted sense of curiosity, a tiny hint of which we've seen. Every mission, Scar is there, floating, lingering behind, waiting in the background as Earth's last hope rages against the dying of the light. She is... intrigued. She wants to share in their joy, but she doesn't know how. She wants to share in their rage, but she's never experienced it enough to trust herself with something so powerful. Scar contends with the contentious - the first fleeting feelings of emotion. But how those emotions manifest, how humanity introduces them to Scar, well... we'll just have to wait and see. The universe may be relying on it.

The final four... in next topic! We'll close out PART IV here, with your comments. Tomorrow, the last quartet commences.

#6 - Hi There.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/1/8/6/AAOJ0pAADcgS.jpg
I'm a Star Sapphire Ring.

After the death of Deborah Domaine, the Star Sapphire Rings automated programming determined that Checkmate was the only appropriate organization that could provide a new ringbearer. As such, Star Sapphire Ring returned to Zonn Zorr, where its programming has begun to develop new subroutines based upon its interactions with such luminaries as Saoirse and Patch. Starsa, as she is called now, has found a few potential candidates, but in the search, a new problem had emerged - without a power battery or access to Zamaron, Starsa slowly was losing power without any way to recharge. Knowing that she was only days away from brain death, Starsas outlook on the universe continued to bend with the state of the world around her. Eventually, however, as Starsa continued to inch closer towards a state of complete memory death, she was gifted a new chance at life. On a visit to Zamaron, Queen Aga'po reignite Starsa's passion for, well, passion. And now, Starsa, with a newly reconstructed bond to a Lantern formed, is ready to bring the pink light of love to the universe.

We reach the final frontier, space - and within the boundless boundaries of the infinite infinities that includes, love is all you need. At least according to one rather optimistic, precocious little ring that has gone to resemble something of a mascot to the party at various times. But the question becomes, if love is all you need, what about the rest of the universe? What about free will, deterministic expression, the opportunity and capacity to find joy and piece in other raw emotions?

Starsa isn't terribly interested in those questions. Everything is answered by love and love alone. All other notions take a backseat - and that's proven to be the uncomfortable reality the party has had to accept when it comes to our sisters in pink, the Zamaron-based Star Sapphires. The discomfort all of you demonstrate with the Star Sapphires has always been palpable, and the shift from Starsa's innocence to something lingering at the edges of sinister has only buttressed my feelings that the complexity of this Corps has been one of the greater successes I've had in writing the DCU my way. I just take a lot of pride in these moments of victory, and the Saphs are certainly a major success in translating such great characters and concepts, refracting them through my lens, and presenting them to you.

Hello, Nikhto!

And fast, five remain.

#7 - Bobo Bennetti
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/6/2/1/AAOJ0pAADa5t.jpg
Put up your dukes, if'n you take umbrage with this ranking. Unless you're just a heater...

Jake Bennetti used to be your run-of-the-mill thug with an ugly mug, but after years of hard time, Bobo emerged from prison ready to roll up his sleeves and get down to the knitty-gritty. After receiving an olive branch from Jack Knight, Bennetti decided to end his animosity with the Knight clan and became respectable for the first time in his long life. Ever spoiling for a fight, Bobos fists landed him in trouble with the legions of shadows controlling Opal City after A-Day, but he was rescued by Checkmate agents and now works with their first expansionary field team in an effort to pay them back for their kindness.

A man with a taxonomy of language wholly his own, Bobo Bennetti kind of exemplifies everything I love about this campaign. With Bobo I get the opportunity to offer, gift-wrapped, a piece of the DCU to all of you - a piece that is my personal favorite. The story of Opal City is one that revolves around embracing and celebrating the past, which is, in some respects, the story of this campaign. Opal is a quilt woven with the pieces of its long, storied tenure as a jewel on the coastline, and Bobo is representative of one of those tapestry eras - a bustling postwar world where an element of coolness came from dangerous toughs and dames filled with moxie. For me, having an opportunity to share Bobo, who is for my money the best side character in the best series in DC, has proven really rewarding. His vocabulary is unique, his personality stands out as independent to a fault, and his general optimism and confidence in himself is the perfect tonic to the heavy weight of doubt that permeates every debriefing and every activity in Z'onn Z'orr.

A secret sixth place falls next.

Catman has so many inter-relations that it makes him a really complex character. Susie, Saoirse, Deadshot, Cheshire. I know they're not close, but I bet Scandal wishes he were more active within the six, since he's rational enough and should be less bogged down on machismo than her other male counterparts.
I believe she in fact said that Catman is the only one that could keep Bane from steamrolling the rest of the Six, including herself.

Saoirse was a rambunctious girl with a passion for nature and biology. There's a world where her natural anti-establishment sensibilities coincide with the path that Catman has taken. He thrived in No Man's Land, a world without rules beyond the Darwinian laws of the jungle, and I think that makes him this sort of pure, noble soul to Saoirse in that his axes to grind are largely the same as hers. He wants no part in the societal structures of iniquity and control. And he's a primal thing, a bestial creature of sorts, but with a thinking mind. Catman possesses all of the traits of someone who can philosophize, though he often does not - and he certainly doesn't grandstand. He's entirely comfortable as himself, and I think that confidence is somewhat alluring to Saoirse as well.

#8 - Catman
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/2/5/AAUHRBAAEglJ.png
Would you look at his abs, though?

Thomas Blake was once an enemy of Batman, a villain who trended downward in the quality of his work and his results until he hit rock bottom, overweight, caught robbing a convenience store by Green Arrow. Blake decided to reconstruct himself, and he did so during No Mans Land, taking over a small sliver of the city to care for a pride of lions. Afterwards, Blake retreated to Lamumba, where he lived on a game preserve with his beloved brother Hector and the rest of his lion family. When he refused to join the Society, however, Deathstroke left a message - dozens of dead lions, and a family destroyed. Now, Blake seeks vengeance against Deathstroke and the rest of the Society as a member of the Secret Six. After their headquarters was captured by the traitorous Cheshire, Blake and the rest of the Six were forced to flee from their base outside of Stone Ridge, Vermont, to Zonn Zorr. He has vowed to pay back the future mother of his child for this indignity. Blake also was offered the mantle of Batman some time before A-Day, an offer he has emphatically declined.

Of course, the story past this point has become well-documented - the betrayal, the attempt at rectification. Catman now wrestles with the guilt he feels over the child, unborn in Cheshire's belly, that he wants no part of. And as he grapples over the morality of himself, that cowl, delivered by Batman just before the end, seems loom ever present.

As excited as we all are for new personalities, new storylines, new friends and new enemies, I was not done with Catman. Not by a longshot. In the last campaign, the notion was that Catman was the individual who thrived in a world without society and law. A city without a city. He was a beast in a jungle, the only person to improve with the destruction of Gotham City. In this campaign, I've taken that theme and renewed it. In a world without HEROES, Catman has the potential to become the world's greatest. And that's not because Darkseid has eliminated the heroes of Earth in a succinct, drumming defeat. This all falls on the notion that Zatanna may have committed an act so vile, so unexpectedly awful, that it turned anarchy into a Society. And it may be the catalyst to forge a hero out of Catman. We don't have a lot of opportunities for a long cowboy in this character, but I think Catman, more than anyone else, has the opportunity to develop that independent mind and change the world around him. The only issue is that he carries demons on his back, and the baggage of his past may not be so quickly relieved. The ghost of Hector - and I mean this seriously - weighs heavily on Catman, especially now that said ghost lives on a branch just outside of Catman's treehouse. Imagine losing your closest family member to violence. Catman was already quick to brutal revenge before. Will that weakness doom the Secret Six?

Oh thank heaven, we're down to seven.

#9 - Hidden Morro
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/3/2/AAblU3AAD6X8.jpg
Morro doesn't socialize.

The Green Lantern of Sector 666, Morros duties are largely ceremonial in his sector, a location largely devoid of crime or evil thanks to the largely empty regions that make up that portion of the universe. Instead, Morro is well-respected for the vigil he keeps in the Halls of the Fallen on Oa. Morro is an unusual being, alien even to his home sector, in that he believes in the Guardians mandate despite the acts which led to the destruction of his home sector, eons ago. For Morro, there is important work that must be carried out by the Corps, so that the fate of his sector can never be duplicated again. Once a nomadic desert world dweller, Morro has brought with him to Oa two dratures, reptilian creatures which help to stoke the flames which eternal light each memorial on Oa.

So what if the top ten is chock-a-box full of Lanterns? My list, my rules, and if you've got a problem with that, you can have a permanent schedule of Manchester for the rest of the campaign. Let's see how YOU like it. Me? I'm going to espouse the virtues of Morro, my main mortuary man, the guy of the graveyard a memorial miser to memorialize. Morro's story is the tale of isolation, eternal, miserable loneliness, the origins of which stretch into a time before tales, stories, legend, even myths. Imagine existence was defined by heinous tragedy, Brobdingnagian cataclysms where body counts can't even be measured in the billions. It's been said that 1 death is a tragedy and 1 million deaths is a statistic. 1 trillion deaths stretches far beyond the ability of a mind to rationalize, to consider that the Manhunters piled up corpses in estimation a number that would rival the stars in the sky above. Death became a sector, and a sector became death. One billion years later, and Morro provides a glimmer of hope and light to the dead zone of the universe, Sector 666. But in that bright spark of possibility there remains a soul chained to the sins that have kept down race after race of natives in a place where silence fills the gulfs between worlds. Eternal grieving - that is Morro's life's work. Even in escape from the grave of the universe, Morro takes his newfound power and serves as the guardian of Lantern's dimmest construct - the Crypt of the Fallen. Noble though his vigil may be, guided by the warm embers expelled by his dratures, Morro is held hostage by a great evil that was inflicted upon a number too numerous to even understand. 1 is a tragedy. 1 million is a statistic. 1 trillion is the end. Now, the 666 is simply epilogue.

Eighth is enough for our next ranking.

#10 - Pixie
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/1/9/5/AAUHRBAAD0br.jpg
Sir!

Pixie was the faithful companion of Osgood Pellinger, a noted hacker in the New Jersey area. But when her doting master was kidnapped, Pixie found herself adrift, wandering lost and alone in Darkseids America. Injured and starving, Pixie was rescued and brought back to Zonn Zorr, where she found a new doting mistress in Lush. Pixie began her time in Zonn Zorr rather timid, but thanks to Data 7 and Lush, she has slowly grown to find her voice - except when Starro is around.

However, when Data 7 began to show his affections for anyone and everyone but Pixie, the sweet, retreating pup turned dangerous and vengeful. And soon, the Big Troubles' recruitment drive was interrupted by the newly-formed Passable Persuasions:

"Sir, we are your archenemies. We are so stealthy, we exist only in the shadows, lingering on your every word, watching your every move. We are more than a gang - we are a movement, a force outside of simple rats and dogs. And they see me, for I am, like you, a talented thief. I was trained by one of the greatest - Marm. Now, I shall turn her experience against you, and you will beg and grovel for me to be inducted into your Big Troubles, as you were meant to. When we first met, you treated me as man treats his lady. Now, I am nothing more to you than some contestant in your trivial games, to be mocked and judged. I judge you, sir! I judge you!"

Having been given a small iota of courage thanks to a new tiara, golden teeth, and glasses that have turned Pixie into a pesky liar, the little princess has gathered Rover, T.C. and Stitchentyme into her new coven of danger, all in an attempt to earn the respect of Data 7 and remind him of why he should ply his affections upon her. Even after the sudden and tragic demise of dear Osgood, Pixie has begun to return to her previous precociousness (after a brief stint of eating Dog-Choc cakes made by the Auto-Chef), vowing to wreak havoc against Patch's gang.

Pixie is, for all intents and purposes, and original character. Featured in three issues of a Robin mini-series as a background character, I discovered Pixie in my grave-robbing of the cemetery old, forgotten stories. Something about her face really caught my attention - it seems so lost, so tired. With the opportunity to expand Gotham just a little bit more, I went to work on the character, and hopefully my result has been enjoyable for all. We've yet to see spoiled pets in these campaigns, and that's for good reason - in No Man's Land, a pampered animal was nonexistent, thanks to the conditions. And in Final Crisis, the stakes are so high that I imagine people rarely consider diving into what would amount to small potatoes in comparison to the monumental threats they face. So having this downtime character presenting the sort of worldly mentality exhibited in a show like Upstairs, Downstairs, or Downton Abbey, is really just a joy. Once again, I have this opportunity to use an entirely new taxonomy of language with the character. Her syntax is different and her vocabulary is different from the other characters around her, and I think that only causes her to stand out, enhanced by a personality that clashes with the nature of Z'onn Z'orr.

Noble Nine time.

Olapet
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/8/7/AAUHRBAAEgcv.jpg
Olapet is a sentient plantlife from Southern Goldstar serving as the Green Lantern of Sector 345. One of the oldest Green Lanterns on record, Olapet tops 100,000 years of age, predominantly due to her ability to reincarnate from time to time and transfer her mind through a seedling pouch that she carries at her side. Because of her appearance, Olapet is often underestimated and because of this she enjoys lulling her enemies and allies alike into a sense of calm, preferring persuasion to outright combat. Olapet has chosen to take on a protective duty on Oa for the next century - a role normally only offered for six months at a time, but, because of her long lifespan, something that Olapet considers only a short stint herself. Still, such significant longevity cannot erase the psychic scars left on her seedlingbrood - that, eons ago, Olapet's people of Southern Goldstar were nearly incinerated by the Burning. Roz'etta's progenitors, her ancestors. The original Martians. And thus it is that Olapet's serene calm hides a plaintive song, a cry of genetic pain burned into her very DNA.

Radio Tuner
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/6/9/1/AAAe4tAADpUr.png
Little is known of the origins of the Radio Tuner, but the tiny device was capable of absolutely destroying a small contingent of Society members before being convinced to help a group of hapless Checkmate agents. In the ensuing weeks, Radio Tuner proved invaluable, capable of altering reality through its careful choice of magical backdrops in a variety of high pressure situations. According to Paul McCartney, Radio Tuner is not only a friend, but an invention of Trish McKenzie, a fact which may have been accidentally proven by Lush, when she gave the broken Radio Tuner to Trish on the Story Line four years ago...

Of course, Radio Tuner's main schtick is the often mischievous music that plays during combat, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to the A*Teens, from AFI to Paul McCartney. Name some of your favorite Radio Tuner songs here!

inchie write-up please

Inchie
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/4/4/AAQcMAAAEFVs.png
When Rozetta was a young Saturnian girl, her father gave her a much-desired pet - a Titan nitrogen-worm, Inchie. Fed its supplement of beans faithfully by its caretaker, Rozetta remained a stalwart companion of the tiny creature until it was released to complete its death cycle in peace in the seas of Titan, as is tradition while Rozetta was still less than one. Years later, Rozetta would run into gargantuan wurms on Graxos IV that, while proportionally grander, had the same general form and appearance as Inchie. After reaching the end of its lifestage, Inchie began to turn pink - a sign that its body was preparing to enter the decompositional phase of its mortality. Rozetta, a dutiful caretaker to the pet, was taken by her father to the seas of Titan, per tradition. Here, Inchie was released with some difficulty, not wanting to depart from its dear girl of several Earth-years. But nevertheless, when other of its kind were spotted, Inchie scuttled off to be with them in its final days, as Rozetta returned to her home. Artemis-2 loves to taunt Roz'etta about dead Inchie.

THE CHARACTER MOST DESERVING OF NOT MAKING THE LIST:
L-RON
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/8/4/AAcguBAADmAE.jpg
Hello, minion of Checkmate!

Originally, L-Ron hailed from outer space, serving the infinite Mister Nebula on his quest to consume planets. The irksome L-Ron nearly killed an entire team of Checkmate agents through his use and control of the largely mindless Metal Men, but he was ultimately put out of commission and dragged back to Zonn Zorr. For a short time, he was Data 7s accessory robot until Amanda Waller realized that L-Ron, who had been Maxwell Lords personal assistant with both the JLI and Superbuddies, might possess valuable information. L-Ron was recruited by the sly Waller, cultivating him as an asset for the time he might prove useful. L-Ron was recently captured by the sadistic Kid Karnevil, but he was rescued by Pepper Spray, who he now showers with adulation.

L-Ron is an indefinable force of nature, abject chaos packaged into a tiny, narcissistic frame of metal and wiring that somehow was able to avoid destruction, despite the best efforts of Darkseid. And it's easy to see, when you study this loudmouthed bucket of servos, exactly why the dark lord of Apokolips invaded Earth in the first place. There are just some things that are best nipped in the bud. Take L-Ron, for example. Please. Take him. Somebody.

It might be said that L-Ron has the most prominent position in Z'onn Z'orr. After all, he who controls access to the Queen controls the agenda of Checkmate. And Waller, for her part, seems oddly at ease with allowing the blackmail, the coercion, the frayed wits that all meet at the crossroads of L-Ron's desk. But so long as L-Ron remains a thorn in everyone else's side, they are prevented from being a thorn in Waller's side, so maybe, just maybe, she is every bit the evil genius that seem believe her to be.

Top Ten Time.

Honorable Mention - Blue Devil
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/8/4/4/AAcguBAADlNc.png
The devil who would be #102.

Daniel Cassidy originally was a stuntman trapped in a special effects suit, turning him into a superpowered vigilante. But after he was killed and reincarnated as an actual hellfire-and-brimstone demon, he joined the Shadowpact, earning his keep as Jim Rooks bouncer at the last bar on Earth. Cassidy has been part of a number of superteams over the years, and hes had a hand in training a partner - Kid Devil. Cassidys greatest failing, in his mind, was refusing Cynthia Redford as a second protege, which led, in his mind, to her slow deterioration before becoming his nemesis. Now, learning of her mindwipe, he has agreed to help her sort out what led to this cruel result.

Here's a guy who went from working the Justice League International to serving as a heavy for a bar owner in the span of just a couple of years. Here's also a man who went from stunt coordinator to asset of the Lords of Hell over the course of his career. There's a lot to unpack in the story of Blue Devil. Sure, he may be intimidating, but if you just buy him a drink, I'm sure everything will work itself out. Hell, if nothing else, he might be able to inform you on the intricacies of, you know, dying.

Imagine a world where Blue Devil only ever hunched over the bar, serving as the silent bouncer, bending the barstool beneath his big blue bottom as he downed his brimstone beer. We don't have that world. Instead, Lush has harassed, harangued, and hampered our poor veteran of Le Fraterenite du Justice, at that was just by showing up and shading her face behind her open hand. Not the best disguise, biker chick. As we've dug into the E! True Hollywood Story of Robert Redford's naughty niece, Blue Devil has been front and center in that drama, and the animosity is evolving into something different. In a lot of ways, Lush can trust Blue Devil more than other characters - he'll always be brutally, brutally honest with her. He's seen her at her lowest, and he knows the signs to watch for.

And our last honorable mention? Well, if you've been paying attention, there's only one character left to fit the bill...

Honorable Mention - Dweller in the Depths
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/2/4/5/AAUHRBAAEgJV.jpg
The man who would be #103.
One of my favorite books of all time is The Divine Comedy, and the Dweller plays Virgil to our party's Dante as it navigates - instead of nine circles in Hell - seven seas and their respective city-states. The Dweller's motivations aren't exactly shrouded in mystery: he seeks to see the restoration of the Parliament of Waves. It hasn't been discussed too in-depth, but it's obvious that the Dweller has been through a terrible accident that scarred the left side of his body - clearly, he has history in these oceans, and he is not necessarily trying to exploit the ruined state of Atlantis in the absence of Aquaman, but prevent a civilization he has been a part of since his birth from being completely annihilated. However, he relies on a shroud of mystery as his greatest defense, and he doles out wisdom only in the way it suits him and him alone. As for what the Dweller desires as an outcome from the return of the Parliament or the restoration of the Atlantean throne, no one can truly know... at least for now.

As the party has traveled across the sea, this wraith-like being has been spotted in various communities, providing sage advice - a valuable commodity from his ancient mind, filled with the secrets of thousands of years of Atlantis. But to what end? I, for one, am excited to see how this story unfolds, and I know that a few players have voiced their interest in learning more about this being who lingers near the sites of every major stop on the path to Atlantean unity.

The second-to-last Honorable Mention was undrafted, though I thought Scare might pick him up!

Oddly, after this I think the two came to a bit of a better understanding. Brennus asked to learn how to lead from her and she agreed to help teach him.
It was one of my favorite Brennus moments in how he handled the entire thing with grace - and his trademark headfirst willingness to dive into anything presented to him.
