I think it's her at her best, and it was entirely improvised and unplanned. But I think it distills the essence of her character - calculating, cold, focused on the big picture before anything else. I do want to mention that this version of Aquaman - AJ - exists in comics, and he had about an 18-month run before he was abruptly dropped and never mentioned again. This has been a little pet project of mine (although I have so many at this point), nursing along this character that I think had a great opportunity to both develop in his own right, but to also expand the story of Aquaman by highlighting their differences. Nature and nurture are two things, but there is also an element of what one can forge themeselves into, and while the heroic quality is there, Aquaman himself became a king out of necessity and obligation, and in the end, he was the only man for the job.
