I use my phone when Im on the go of course, but that only has some select albums. The phone can only for so much. And I dont know if its because Ive been in an existential mood lately because I just turned 30, but Ive been thinking about this a lot. Obviously a lot of that lies on me. I chose not to go to college after high school mainly because there was nothing I wanted to go for, and I didnt want to go just for the sake of going. But a lot of that has to do with cost. Why is the cost of education so astronomically expensive? My parents couldnt afford it back then and I certainly refused to put myself in debt. I did get myself a job pretty much right after high school though so at least I didnt just sit around like a layabout loser. Of course now Im almost twelve years into it and looking for a way out. But I cant because Im terrified of giving up my medical benefits and even though Im not making a lot of money, I dont know where to go where I can start out at this wage. Plus Im tired of working shitty retail anyway. So I guess the point is, as the person I quoted said, theres just not a lot to look forward to. For me, personally, Im having trouble picturing a path that will set me on a happy future. Id like to get myself an education or at least learn a trade, but Ive already fucked up my body from my job now, so I need to be careful. Id love to get my own place, but housing is so expensive. I dont want to spend my life slaving away for work and then by the time I retire (IF I can ever retire), Im too burnt out to enjoy it. --- These pretzels are making me thirsty! |
