I think his point is that they are more inclusive to people who are conservative or conservative leaning. They are less likely to canabalize someone who is 90% on their side because they are liberal on one issue. the old argument about republicans falling in line. Yes, they will still talk shit about those people and call them RINOs, but at the end of the day they will still turn out to vote for them against an actual liberal.

that's not really the same thing - or at least that depends who the pro-lifers in that debate were. MWC and sephyg, aside from being pro-life, have a gazillion extreme, inflammatory and (i would say) ridiculous stances. so if they almost get called nazis i'm not convinced that's JUST because they expressed pro-life sentiments in a debate about abortion. (note: i'm not saying these two are nazis and it's ok to call them nazis. that's not the point i'm making.)

If those two were the only targets of this attitude, I wouldn't have even posted. But that attitude is thrown at the entire pro-life side.

not sure what your point is. if it's that "home borders" do exist, that's not true because the government is still allowed to enter your home if they want to. in the hypothetical anarchist scenario, you have 100% control of who is allowed to enter your home. that's not the case now.

The point is that even if you eliminated all national borders today, it would not result in a policy of "anyone can cross the property lines along what used to be the US/Mexico border who feels like it."

That distracts from the fact that you just kicked a sword out of midair into a dude's chest. That's metal as hell, and it should have been the signature at the end of the paper.

See how this could have worked and still been metal as all hell is if every bullet from the uzi spam somehow hit the sword and drove it deeper into his chest.

You guys are really underselling the difference between some and all in this context. It's the difference between allowing volunteers to take on an additional duty, and forcing thousands of people out of their choosen profession if they don't accept a drastic change in the job requirements. I'm not comfortable with the assumption that teachers (as opposed to SROs) being armed is yet a mainstream conservative opinion.

And even if it is, it's still quite a leap from that to making it mandatory for all teachers to be armed.
