Are we counting bets? I won 15k betting that the Blackhawks would win the cup in 09/10. Bet was made in pre season

I disagree with this take, there are plenty of great games that go under the radar for ages because people simply don't know about them. Non-AAA titles that can't afford big marketing campaigns, or games that aren't in a series with an already established fanbase, will likely not get a massive amount of attention on release regardless of their quality!

I think these end of year lists are good because it captures the zeitgeist at this particular moment, but I expect a retrospective top 10 a few years from now would look very different in most years.
Best way to find out is to do a 2010 top 10 again and compare it to the old one

So I started watching these from the beginning for the first time (sort of, I'd watched phase 1 on release but stopped) and I just watched infinity war.

I've been unimpressed with many of them (particularly in phase 1), but some of them have been great movies.

My favorites so far are: Infinity War, Ragnorak, civil war, age of Ultron, winter soldier, Guardians 1

I'd say the best 5 from what you haven't played are, in no order (based on what I've played, which is most but not all of them)

Subnautica
Hyper Light Drifter
Dead Cells
Cuphead
Into the Breach

however, i also thought Salt and Sanctuary and Steamworld Dig 2 were both also really enjoyable

I forgot to do this, and also thanks for posting the old lists for me!

  1. Death's Door
  2. Subnautica: Below Zero
  3. Psychonauts 2
  4. Halo Infinite
  5. The Forgotten Story
  6. Little Nightmares 2

I think that's it for me, I don't think I played anything else that deserves to be listed

I feel like Psychonauts is best viewed as an adventure game that decided to be a bit more involved than point-and-click rather than a traditional platformer.
this

neither game has great gameplay, the joy comes mostly from the creative world design and characters

Lol yeah, the lines are... well, they're not even blurred at this point, they're part of the same system. The military straight up uses CoD as a recruitment method to reach teens. Activision hired GW Bush's Homeland Security Adviser to a top position just a few months ago. CoD took a war crime the US committed and fictionalised it so that Russia committed the crime and the US were the heroes. It's incredibly unashamed and in your face, and it shows no sign of changing any time soon! Argh.
lol what was the war crime i didnt hear of this nor do i pay any attention to CoD news
