On the PS1 Crash had a square hitbox, in the remake they gave him a pill box to make it consistent with crash 3.

Crash 1 also required more precision than the other 2. If you're not feeling it move on to crash 2 it hits a good balance between challenging and fun.

There really isnt much of a story so on easy you would pretty much just walk from enemy to enemy and mash the attack button, there wouldn't be much of an incentive to explore and find items if the combat is already easy since why would you bother to raise your defense or equip a ring that prevents your health from lowering when you die if you never get close to death. Why would you bother planning out your stats if you can easily beat everything?

Pretty much everything in the game is tied to the fact that the combat is challenging, and honestly challenging is a better word than hard. Nothing in these games feel hard, it's just that if you get too comfortable and stop paying attention the game will punish you for it.

I read an article the other day about the uncharted games being more fun on easy than on hard. the writer mentioned that in his play through on easy he was able to experience more mechanics of the game, melee combat, jumping, climbing, spraying at people whilst running at them, where as on hard he sat behind cover and popped out at enemies and felt punished if he tried to do any of the fun stuff.

I thought this was funny because i had the exact opposite experience. On my easy play through I sat behind cover and shot people, i did this because the game let me and i found it boring. However on hard when i tried sitting behind cover I was constantly getting killed by grenades, having my cover destroyed and most importantly running out of ammo. So for instance if i killed a sniper who was shooting at me I wanted to get to where he was so i could get the sniper rifle, since that killed any enemy in the game in one or two hits, so i would have to quickly figure out the fastes/safest path to where he was. If i was stuck with the crappy gun I would spray it at enemies to stun lock them allowing me to run up and punch them, i did this because it was quicker and saved bullets.

To summarize, on hard mode i felt more encouraged to play aggressively which i found to be fun. On easy i would not have done any of the fun stuff the game lets you do, because sitting behind cover and taking enemies out from a mile away was easy and more effective.

I don't know. There is literally not enough information in any of the stories I can read to go either way.

The main argument - whether you agree with it or not - is that male designs in games (and comic books, which is where this argument often pops up as well) tend to represent male power fantasy while female designs represent sexual objectification. In other words, male characters are who male players want to be, while female characters are who male players want to have sex with.

And to some extent that's true - I play female characters in nearly every game where it's an option, and in a lot of games, whatever outfit choices you're allowed to pick tend to be more sexualized or skimpy. There's plenty of games where that's not the case, though. Whether it's my Saints Row character wearing classy suits or high fashion outfits and showing almost no skin, my Elder Scrolls Online characters wearing stylish robes or sleek armor, my GTA Online character who is usually dressed in a fashionable leather jacket and dress pants, or a Dragon Age character wearing full plate armor that's almost indistinguishable from the male version, a lot of my female characters wind up wearing more than most of my male ones do.

(And in a similar vein, if I'm playing Tomb Raider, I'm far more likely to put Lara in area-appropriate explorer's outfits rather than have her in shorts and a tanktop just for sex appeal.)

That being said, the one reason why I've always disliked the "Would anyone like it if male characters wore skimpy clothes?" idea (or the related "Hey, most guys are objectified as well, just look at how unrealistically muscled up this comic book character is!" argument) when discussing the issue is because it misses the entire point of objectifying the opposite sex. Most WOMEN (and/or gay men) don't find muscled up dudes in g-strings all that sexy. Straight up nakedness as sexualization is more of a thing when you're talking about what straight guys find attractive in women, so it's not really an equalizing effect to just swap it around and talk about how ridiculous a male character looks wearing a chainmail bikini or the like (and ignores characters like Conan or He-Man to some degree anyway).

Like it or not, there IS tons of objectification in games (and media in general). But what I find to be the more important question is whether or not objectification should be considered as inherently bad in the first place. Most of our fiction is rooted in objectification or ideal-projection in some way - humans tend to find that sort of idealistic fantasy to be appealing in ways that pure realism rarely is.

Wouldn't you rather society help people on drugs with things like rehab rather than throwing them in jail? Drugs being illegal diddn't stop the person(s) you saw destroyed.
