Realistically though I don't hate Terra (hating on her is a fun meme tho), but I'm just not so desperate for a VI win that I'd go all in on her without the rest of the contest going disastrous for me.

Yeah I've been feeling that way for a long time now too. VI just doesn't seem to have the support to push into the finals lately. But maybe this year will be different!

If you're talking about story, NEO follows the events of the anime I think, so which game you play doesn't really matter.

As far as gameplay goes the biggest difference is the different gameplay since one screen vs two.

Promotional material has made it pretty clear it picks up after the events of Final Remix's "A New Day", which the anime doesn't cover at all. But NEO focuses on a new set of protagonists, so it makes the most sense that anything relevant would have to be re-explained to the new characters anyway, so either way it should be fine.

Sure, but she's being given the chance to exist in it now. I don't think she would ultimately want to be the head of the TVA after all she went through. I just wanted her to have a moment of reflection or a show of trust in Loki rather than treating her choice as a no-brainer. That's all.

I think that she just sent him back to the TVA instead of killing him, does show she does care and has some trust in Loki. If she truly believed it was all a long con for him to gain ultimate power, she probably would've just killed him.

It also just occurred to me that final shot of the splintered timeline is basically the setup that allows What If...? to happen next and for it to all be "canon". I just wonder now if any of the scenarios from that show will end up being revisited in future projects. I wasn't really too interested in it because it didn't seem like it was a "real" part of the MCU, but now who really knows.

Oh: why did they just happen to cross "the threshold" while they were in there? What was going on? I assume it wasn't just convenient timing?

My guess is Kang had only planned and pruned his timeline up until the Lokis confront him and he makes his pitch, and he hadn't planned anything out beyond that. So it was just a matter of time after they got there that the timeline would start branching again.

Or maybe it has something to do with Loki and Syvlie creating strong nexus events, like they did on Lamentis. They never really explained why that happened. Kang decided on these two as his replacement for a reason... probably. Edit: or yeah maybe it has to do with Ravonna.

Anyway, I found the finale frustrating. Like sure season finales often have cliffhangers, but they generally also have some degree of resolution too. I guess confronting the true Timekeeper was resolution, but it was delivered in a way that didn't really feel like it to me? Because even that is just an introduction to something coming later.

It feels more like a mid-season finale, and I'm guessing by the end of Season 2, it'll feel more like one 12-episode season than two distinct 6-episode seasons. And ultimately that's fine, I just wish I had realized it was going to feel that way before going in so I could adjust my expectations accordingly.

Without knowing anything about Taskmaster other than what I've been reading here and elsewhere about the movie, it sounds to me like it might've been too much for them to have their genuine personality when the movie already had Yelena and Alexei being jokey or sarcastic much of the time.

But then that's probably just more of an argument to not put Taskmaster in the movie at all, and just make the soldier someone else/someone new.

I sort of thought that the end credits scene could be a teaser for the plot of Captain America 4 instead of Hawkeye but maybe I'm way off base, they just seem like natural supporting characters for that film and julia louis-dreyfus being in that and in TFATWS

But she literally showed Yelena a picture of Hawkeye.

Like at best it could be ambiguous and tie into both Hawkeye and a future movie, but it definitely still ties into Hawkeye.
