This is a tragedy. Jeffs best, worse than the Kanye 5s worst? No way!

But I like a lot of the albums on your list, and about a third to a half would also make my top 50. Pretty solid year.

Daytona was my favorite of the albums he was involved with this year (also I definitely preferred Worry, which might be in my top 10 of that year). Though I will admit, Ghost Town on ye is incredible, but the incredible highs of that album don't outweigh the big lows of it to me, Daytona I loved throughout.

Actually was just putting together a top 50 list this evening, so I'll post that whole list here. Honestly amazing year for music, could probably even make a top 100 and still really like every album on there, but I'll stick with 50, even if it means leaving off stuff I love.

1. Julia Holter - Aviary
2. SOPHIE - Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
3. Beach House - 7
4. Jenny Hval - The Long Sleep [EP]
5. Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy
6. Against All Logic - 2012-2017
7. Let's Eat Grandma - I'm All EArs
8. Tim Hecker - Konoyo
9. Amnesia Scanner - Another Life
10. Saba - Care for Me

11. Yves Tumor - Safe in the Hands of Love
12. Mitski - Be the Cowboy
13. Anna von Hausswolff - Dead Magic
14. Sleep - The Sciences
15. The Caretaker - Everywhere at the End of Time - Stages 4 and 5
16. Kali Uchis - Isolations
17. Denzel Curry - TA13OO
18. Galcher Lustwerk - 200% Galcher
19. Noname - Room 25
20. Mid-Air Thief - Crumbling
21. Daniel Avery - Song for Alpha
22. Daughters - You Won't Get What You Want
23. Jon Hopkins - Singularity
24. Nils Frahm - All Melody
25. Skee Mask - Compro

28. Leon Vynehall - Nothing is Still
29. Marie Davidson - Working Class Woman
30. Death Grips - Year of the Snitch
31. Maymind - Cheap Storage
32. Cloud Nothings - Last Building Burning
33. Mount Eerie - Now Only
34. Kamasi Washington - Heaven and Earth
35. Pusha T - DAYTONA
36. Jeff Rosenstock - POST-
37. Pariah - Here From Where We Are
38. Courtney Barnett - Tell Me How You Really Feel
39. Sitcom - Be the One You Love
40. Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts
41. Snail Mail - Lush
42. Deafheaven - Ordinary Corrupt Human Love
43. Goat Girl - Goat Girl
44. Current 93 - The Light Is Leaving Us All
45. Soccer Mommy - Clean
46. Ovlov - TRU
47. Sons of Kemet - Your Queen Is a Repitle
48. Thou - Magus
49. Clarence Clarity - Think: Peace
50. Kero Kero Bonito - Time 'n' Place

Really liked the new Low and Nine Inch Nails albums too, but not enough to make my list :/ same with Tropical Fuck Storm when looking at what others have said so far, good album, not a favorite though.

Also I just have to include Jenny Hval's new EP on here even if it isn't a full album. It's simply remarkable. Another confirmation to me that she is the greatest working artist today.

It kind of makes sense because I think in the eyes of women who struggle to have children naturally, things like IVF is still kind of stigmatized and viewed as unnatural. I'm sure thats the mindset of her declaring this, since so many people care about what celebrities do, its an attempt to make IVF more normalized.

I would argue Migos and Future are mostly the chief influence over a lot of the last few years, but notably the trends that I am not a fan of nor are plenty of others, like simple trap beats being the norm and the more mumble style of vocals.

Just because of his music. And... like it or not... he has been at the forefront of almost every good innovation in hip hop over the last 15 years. He isn't the best rapper, far from it, and he isn't the best producer (though he is pretty great). But from his first albums to his pop rap albums to his more experimental post-MBDTF albums, each of them ushered in a new wave of artists clearly influenced by Kanye's styles.

Also I'll never understand the people who are against modern Kanye's music but massive fans of his old stuff. The College Dropout is my favorite album of his too, but Yeezus, outside of maybe Bound 2 as a closer, was fantastic, and Life of Pablo, despite being a mess of an album, had some really genius ideas underlying a decent amount of the tracks. Also I'm not personally a fan of his most recent album, but the other 2018 albums he worked heavily on (Kids See Ghosts and Pusha T's album) both had some fantastic production imo.

But yeah, I don't think anyone is claiming he is a genius outside of music and self-branding, and if they are they are kidding themselves.

Obviously not saying these are the end all to which presidents is better than who, and obviously all of our own rankings would differ due to political opinions. But a ranking based on the opinion of an expert carries far more weight, no matter the subject, and its silly to just yell bias when there isn't a chance in hell you, me, or anyone in this topic is more informed on American political history than any of the people polled.

Bias!

The bias being... Republicans whose profession is studying the nature of politics think Trump is one of the worst presidents?

I'm sorry but I don't care what either your average Joe who hasn't studied history, economics, or international politics since high school, if ever, thinks about the quality of presidents and how they have shaped into its history, and instead only know what they know through all the bias in their life, such as you. People who study history daily, from all sources? Yeah those are the people who are going to have informed and minimally biased opinions.

You and ICOYAR are just ridiculous, imagine thinking highly educated people are the people who are most not to be trusted when it comes to the things that they dedicate their lives towards. It's like not trusting an aerospace engineer when it comes to designing planes; better consult Zeus when it comes to plane design, he clearly is more informed.

In particular, here is the bottom 10 compared between democratic scholars, independent scholars, and republican scholars

Democrat Scholars
35. Taylor
36. Tyler
37. Hoover
38. A. Johnson
39. Fillmore
40. Pierce
41. Harding
42. W.H. Harrison
43. Buchanan
44. Trump

Independent
35. Hoover
36. Nixon

41. A. Johnson
42. W.H. Harrison

41. A. Johnson
42. Pierce
43. W.H. Harrison
44. Buchanan

So Trump, Buchanan, W.H. Harrison, Andrew Johnson, Pierce, Harding, Fillmore are common between all three in the bottom 10, Trump being the only post WW2 president of the 7.

In comparison to the top 10 for each party, Lincoln, FDR, Theodore Roosevelt and Washington are in the top 4 for each, while Jefferson, Truman, Eisenhower are also in the top 10 of each. Meanwhile the democrats had Obama, LBJ and Wilson in the top 10, indepndents had Reagan, Madison and John Adams, and republicans had Reagan, McKinley, and Jackson.
