SP at 1 is relevant cuz it's usually used as a stepping stone to Isolde, and you'd want to have one that's not a stepping stone

It's for the Fusion part of the current event, so I can't Xyz sadly. But that is what I would do were I in the Xyz category.

The biggest problem really is that Therions can't fucking equip from hand. I really dunno why they're made that way and then have like a single spell that allows pitching of Therion cards.

Also had a SwoSo fucko counter my ass with D Fissure. Turns out it fucking turns off Regulus

Getting 50%ish WR with Therion Invoked. It's honestly not a good deck at all. Extremely prone to bricking and hand traps. When it pops off tho, it's pretty hard

Ok I got 1500 on both Xyz and Synchros. I do want to inflate the Xyz number a bit more lol cuz they're actually really powerful.

But I got an absolute banger game vs Branded. You know how crazy it got was that I skipped Ashing the Branded Fusion because I had Nibiru in hand. He even bit the bait of expending more resource to summon Albaz to fuse with my Nibiru, because I had called by to counter his Branded in Red the next turn, banishing his Albaz to fizzle his shit.

The end result is that I normal summoned Ash, which eventually let me climb to PEP, who secured the game with Chungus. It was a pretty masterful hold

Time for Master Saga S5 E14

This is live commentary. Farfa almost got a fucking playable Mikanko ritual lmao. Kudos for not cheating. Gage has some good options here, and ngl Time Thiefs aren't the worst, but is Marincess Icejade a thing? I mean... why not, right? Doug got sick staples, Floodgate traphole, Gorz, and some decent choices elsewhere.

Farfa went... Numerons. I hope he loses. Farfa's been stepping up his "destroy Gage's butthole" diatribes. MBT influence is a bit bige.

Gage went Icejades, hell yeah. I like it. He's got a great water pool haha pool get it. I swear somebody has Icejade Gymir Aegirine. If it's Gage, he can just pivot to full Icejade. They're not bad and can set up unoutable shit randomly. HE GOT BARONNE?!?!?! Oh it's banned el oh el. I forgot Doug abused her like crazy. Ok Gage's pulls are kinda doodoo, big rip. I'm pretty sure you need Aegirine and her ship thing. His Ghoti pool got good all the sudden, but Guoglim is garbage, sadge.

Doug went Dragonmaid. I don't really agree with it cuz Unchained has always been good in Master Saga. Wait UR Tindangler? That's something to think about. Tiamaton is never not good in sealed. WTF ok he got Sheou and his craft is a double N/R. This slaps.

I hope Farfa loses. Glad we're not seeing the basically invincible Shaddoll Tear, but this is straight up objectively worse. Ok, Gage is working with Fish synchro, which is really powerful in sealed. It's not bad, and seems the Marincess package is still in it. Coelacanth is pretty wild. Gage's decks are just getting better, finally. Uhh... Doug went pend lol eh... It's actually a pretty decent deck, but maybe it's not week 14 decent. I'm actually a fan of Igknights, but can they do anything against Numerons?

The answer is no... This is the worst episode ever. God this is the first time Gage has read any of these cards either. The fucking dinomists do like nothing, wtf. They're like a battle archetype and they just do nothing at battle phase. Who designed these trash?

Gage's continuous stuff has like insane advantage game wtf. ...Ok Doug threw. I can't believe he didn't activate that effect to secure the win. Luckily I don't think Gage knows how to understand that a blue glowing text is the one that activates. He also never drew a tuner. That feels bad but I haven't seen his ratios

Can Gage make it a 1-1-1? HE'S GONNA SHIF. Holy shit he drew Imperm. It's so joe ever for Furfa. Ok Marincess to go into Abyss Keeper is fucking based. I like Gage's deck unless it bricks. Ok he's got a fucking mirror force at quick play damn this deck is so sick. Ok Gage, being coy about having imperm lmao. Holy crap he's also got hop ear squadron. I have to think IWishTCG built this deck. I just don't see it any other way. Ngl, his ratio isn't... that great? He might not have another fish tuner

Farfa with a decent quandary. I dunno if it'll work the way Farfa thinks but I actually think it'll go in his favor. Nvm, it ruled in Gage's favor, but it fucking banished face down? This is so crazy. Wow, it just comes back face down. So weird. Wow Farfa has Megaclops to plan B if the Numeron OTK doesn't work. That's too strong. Just ban Network. Man Farfa actually has too many things that need bans. Only if the targeted ban thing was still in effect. I swear that's not even that bad of a rule. Gage should've diversified. That's the whole point of the series

You posted the meme review for us. Thanks for that. I immediately looked for Samuolo

But yes I saw the list, and honestly, it's pretty good. Ash and Wanted semi hurts the consistency and in some aspects, the recursion. They saw how hard the Ash limit actually hits Snake Eyes in the OCG probably.

Also SHS is still pretty good imo. I dunno if we ever need to feel bad for them ngl

I mean I was on the Korean forums at the time, and the most upvoted comments were extremely sexist comments about how females don't deserve human rights, but I don't go around like bookmarking that shit.

I didn't have to look all that hard. They aren't even the only company to fire feminists to appease incels. This shit happened on like 3 different other Korean companies that I can think of.

Also you can just google the fact that Shift Up is partially owned by Tencent and has a deal with the Saudis to localize their games to there, in exchange for heavily censoring anything that might heavily coincide with their beliefs.

Not too sure what the disagreement is here. Trying to be on a higher moral ground so you can buy a coomer bait game in peace? Nah dude

I think Chimera is a bit too strong for this event. They kinda banned most of their counters, like all the good Synchro/Xyz decks got hit, and they go first and it's sorta just over. They're too resistant to every hand trap if they just draw well, and they just auto-play

Yo that's crazy. I was testing my R-ACEist deck and I had Baronne on the board, CPU had Malefic World on the board. Turn 3, CPU activates Malefic World and essentially gives up his normal draw to get a Malefic draw. My Baronne negates, but Malefic World already negated his regular draw, and because it was negated and destroyed, it can no longer allow the CPU to find a Malefic. So it simply skipped its draw

It was meta in TCG for some time. Now that I look at it, we don't have the key pieces yet, which are Gen the Diamond Tiger and Ken the Warrior Dragon. They summon the other to the other side of the board, which then you can do a Mikanko combo to summon up to 3 cards on the field, one of them having to be a lvl 3. Then you make an Acid Golem and Transverser the other to the other side.

It also technically works with Terrortop, but the other lvl 3s aren't quite as efficient as Terrortop or Mikankos with a card on the other side.

Gen and Ken were amongst the leaks so we may get them eventually

Meanwhile, I lost to another Chimera... The funniest thing about this fucking deck is that I won 2 in a row by simply going first and Ashing their first search. Seems if they don't get Chimera Fusion into the hand or aren't able to resolve Patchwork, they're kinda fucked

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxVPk8pL4eo

Ok so seems Goblin Biker PUNK will basically be an even better Acid Golem locker lol

Thinking of mixing PUNK with Mikanko because Fu-Ri is psychic and Lv 3....but I'm not sure how.

The deck is pretty bloated already, but mixing two Japanese arts is something I can't resist.
You can definitely do this, but probably not for this event. It'd also be a rank 3 turbo, and you would most likely be doing an Acid Golem transverser lock, but there are probably better sub-engines for it.

Xyz has the strongest deck in Purrely actually. Unfortunately its one of the harder decks to learn, the Pure version while relatively cheap isnt strong enough to easily stream roll for average players and the the better variants are very expansive and require a engine most arent willing to buy even if its possibly one of the best decks.

never mind if they even like the playstyle.
Yeah I ran Daruma Cannon just in case, and it's won me games in general. I haven't faced a Purrely yet though

I had some pretty sick duels overall with my Rank 3 xyz Zoodiac, going like 13-2 or something. Lost once to Chimera going 2nd cuz they had too much shit going on. Not sure what was the other one I lost to

Fusion seems the most popular and probably the most powerful, but ppl are sleeping on Xyz cuz it's hard to spam monsters without certain tools. As usual Terrortop is my goat, but man Zoodiacs are so weak. Their appeal of not activating is lessening by the moment.

The only non prio shift I can think of is the beginning of the main phase, which is considered an open game state.

https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Game_state

If it's open, the priority is on the turn player. The moment they declare anything that closes the game state, you can respond, and if you respond, you pass the prio to the other player

So technically you can respond like twice. When they declare the Main Phase end, you can respond, and when they declare battle phase and pass their activation, you can respond again at the beginning of the battle phase.

In terms of a card every deck can use, if you're not going first with a bunch of interruptions, hoping Daruma Cannon survives til the next turn really is one of the very few ways to counter Purrely during this event.

I watched the Robotics;Notes anime, and I quite liked it. I've seen people shit on it or say it was ultra forgettable, and long term, perhaps that is true

However, I distinctly remember at the time, people thought Frau was peak and the nerdy serious guy was cool. They liked the AI girl in the AR world, and they had fan arts aplenty during the anime's airing.

Also the anime ended really well. Because so much of it is them bonding together and living a carefree life trying to make their stupid club work, when shit hits the fan, and all these serious people get foiled by the virtue of them being carefree makes all the slice of life feel like there was a point to all of it. Definitely the type of show where if you stop in the middle, you'll think it's complete shit, but the payoff makes it all the worth your while

PS5 probably did it the most injustice out of everything. My friend who's in Japan basically implied that PS5, and even PS4 had very little presence in the biggest electronics stores he could find. They'd have like 5 displays, the Switch and PC had like 20+ each.

They'll still have their US/Europe audience because these ppl are like crazed fans, and a lot of dev teams from Sony moved overseas. But that also means they'll start to lose big jp centric devs. They'll lose all the indies in PS5 and a lot of 3rd party devs like Capcom, Squeenix, Bamco, etc.

FF7 being this insane reputation game selling like an indie RPG on the Switch is probably gonna be a huge red flag to a lot of future projects

Yeah honestly XCX servers were completely dead prior to this point, esp cuz the game is mega expensive now, like in the $300s for used.

If anything, the servers shutting down allowed for probably my favorite gaming experience in this year thus far. I liked playing during the time of Gen 4. It truly felt next gen for the first time. However, I distinctly remember that I didn't enjoy the entire experience.

Most of the main sections kinda felt like a big nothingburger, HP took forever to drain, effects took a long time to play out, slight delays happened every other action. There were also just sections of the map that did fucking nothing. The mountains were mostly bland caves and linear top paths, the middle section cities nobody fucking remembers what goes on over there.

Even as a kid with a surprising amount of patience, I felt a grating feeling in the back of my head, like man, I don't think I ever felt this with Sapphire. I know ppl talk about the long water sections, but at least those water sections had immense amounts of secrets and hidden paths. However, somehow nobody talks about how boring the entire 2/3 end of the game is in Diamond/Pearl. I played Plat so I know how much they speed it up. In fact, the Distortion World is probably the best thing Gamefreak has ever done to improve a game, cuz it had great dialogue, more Cynthia scenes, and probably the most memorable area design in any Pokemon games, despite the fact that most of what you do there is walk. Plat would still be worth playing, but if you look at the footages now, you can still see how fucking slow Plat is. Now imagine the game being 1.5x slower with worse content, and that's DP

This looks pretty good. I really liked SMTV actually, but I felt like the same writing staff just doesn't exist anymore in Atlus, aka the people responsible for stuff like DDS or Strange Journey.

So I wasn't sure about dipping into this one as well, but now I feel like I should. It gives me SMT4 Apocalypse vibes, and that's really good, but it still has the same feel as SMTV. Characters that just kinda look cool but don't amount to all that much. SMTV side quest plots were occasionally quite good. I really like most of the Nordic related ones that ultimately unlock one of the best and most animated demons in the game. I really liked all the ones involving the little fairy girl you meet early in the story. If those charms were more in the main story, I'd give more shit.

Yeah Karl is a drama channel that's occasionally a good speedrun analysis channel. You can sorta see from the way he speaks outside of his scripts, he's more into the drama than he is about the causes and speedruns and whatnot. Though I don't think his videos are particularly about negativity than it is about making a clown show out of them.

Video essay meta changes a lot more frequently than people seem to think. It's not really about negativity anymore. People love long drawn out narrations of things they can discern for themselves, and people love news and speculations. The way I see it, the only way negativity can succeed nowadays is if it involves lolcows and making a clownshow as large as possible about them.

It's also silly because you have genuinely really fucking good singers trained classically also take up the genre cuz it's so popular. It feels like a waste of talent but it's not like he was earning bank on his original genre.

This boom happened because of a tv show competition (Mr. Trot) and persisted probably because it's the most Korean centric thing in the goddamn world. Also it appeals to like a 50+ year range of audience, and modern K-pop realistically only appeals to like 10-20 years of range of ppl.

Yeah okay.

After complaining that bunny hopping like a maniac doesn't make you speed up anymore, I stopped reading.

That's just looking for stuff to complain about.
Never said DD2 lets you speed up? I clearly said it only applies to DD1, and DD2 lets your stamina recover, but you still move around the world at a snail's pace.

A lot of you haven't really read the whole post. I know not all of it was about jumping the shark, and I acknowledged it @NeonOPPAl and @Irony and the likes. But the jumping the shark part of the post was in the initial post

The overambition was the entire point, rather than focusing on making a playable game. However, a lot of the points made in the post does build up to it, so I think you guys don't really have good focus or reading comprehension. Not surprising though, cuz it's gamefaqs and people having fading eyesight due to age or some shit like that

your complaints aren't unfounded, whether or not jumping the shark is the right term to use

i'm debating if i even want to continue playing it at all. i'm at my "what's the point" point, after realizing what it all amounts to in the end. which is many hours of walking
Yeah jumping the shark was my initial point and it kinda devolved into a general complaint. My main point was initially that the director's interview was really revealing. He clearly focused on going overboard with very select things, like various small scripted interactions that don't feel constructed. The game being poorly optimized and running poorly on decent devices is pretty telling on the fact that he never really considered who can play the game, only that he can do it given the budget and the devotion of the fans, aka jumping the shark.

He needed somebody to tell him no. I think this happens to a lot of projects that found success in a previous entry and then ruins it in an overambitious unfocused next entry

Would upgrading your PC resolve the shark's share of your issues? If so, maybe do that
For one mediocre game? Why? I can literally run everything else in very stable 60+ fps 1440p. Why do I need more?

So with my 3.5 yr old computer, which was mid-high range at the time, I am able to run this game at an unstable 20 FPS for the actual play parts of the game. Sometimes it'll reach 50 FPS on areas where nothing is happening, and I simply just don't count those, cuz those sections just don't involve much play. It's giving me a fucking migraine to play on a 1440p screen

But I think if the only issue with stuttering frames, I can sorta let it slide. The game also looks like a Wii game cuz I reduced the settings to the bones to not a whole lot of benefit. My CPU is also doing fine, it's just my GPU. But the game has way more issues than that, and people are coming out in droves about it

In terms of DD1, which is now dated and also really flawed in the modern day, it felt a lot like if it had modern sensibilities, it could be so much better. I played a mystic knight super cannon blast combo ultra, and it was really fun, but that's about it. I feel like people really overexaggerate the things that supposedly made it great, but by today's standard, I feel like I can actually play another Capcom game (cough Monster Hunter) and get a better combat experience at every point.

Also do we need to really walk everywhere with a shitty stamina system? At least compared to DD1, in DD2, the stamina recovers at a reasonable pace, but in return they nerfed being able to spam jump to go fast enough. Because so many random encounters happen, the point is that you walk everywhere to go through these random encounters. But random encounters are really only fun one time through. If you like repetition that much, it's fine, but you have to understand that the average person would hate to have to do the same repetitive shit every single time you want to get just about anywhere slightly further away from town. It's honestly a bit absurd.

Then the portcrystals. I still haven't fucking found one, so they purposely make it hard to obtain one of these, but also porting to town is expensive (yeah you can find them but their limitedness makes them hard to use freely). But the only 2 in the entire game are basically like in walking distance of each other? Ok why not have more though? I don't see how it would hurt the game whatsoever

But then you get to like classes, and like they straight up just nerfed Sorc to be as unfun as possible compared to DD1? Like 4 skill slot, which hurts every class reliant on skills, so is the expectation that if you don't have the out, you just normal attack over and over? Also no Mystic Knight as far as I can tell, and Warfarer seems too far away. People also mention Warfarer is one of those classes that are really hurt by only being able to carry 4 skills

So not only did they stifle player freedom, you only really get to use them on the same pile of like 8-9 enemy types. Goblins and wolves are pretty uninspiring, bosses are damage sponges, and the claim from many players is that this doesn't really change as time goes on.

Then there are the billions of NPCs that are supposedly slowing this game down, but like 99% of them don't even do anything? They just repeat from a pool of like 3 dialogues, and you just have to like run around everywhere like an idiot til you find some dude within some distance wave at you I guess? But what's weird was some NPCs do actually have to be talked to for some info, so it's not like you can ignore every NPCs forever either. I once got to some wizard's house where a kid is complaining to her grandparents that she wants to learn magic. There was a whole cutscene and then... talking to them does nothing. I left and never came back because it fucking takes like 15-20 minutes to get there from the city

So I didn't really want to keep trudging through this boring game, but I also hear it somehow gets worse as the game goes on, like the 2nd half of the game is straight up unfinished and very easy to reach? There isn't a story either? Like what you get at the beginning and what you hear from the black dude in the city tavern is basically the whole story. So what am I even doing all this for?

I read a lot of this developer's interview to see wtf was going on, and I feel like he was overambitious and completely put his priorities in the wrong place, but he needed somebody to keep him in check. I don't think throwing money at this guy was the solution, when a lot of other teams at Capcom has proven several times that they can do large profile projects.

It's pretty obvious to me, making flashy graphics and open world was top priority, the random encounters second, and everything else was put in the backburners. It needed a better director and at least 2 years longer in development. I doubt I'll buy another Dragon's Dogma game though

What's the issue again? Wasn't the money finally donated? Do we just blanket demonize people who do one bad thing, especially if they make attempts to fix their wrong doing?
The issue is that people did some math and found they should have much more money, but also lied about none of the charity fees being used for exorbitant event costs when they were.

So they're still crooks. They didn't even donate all the money amongst the revenues they actually reported. Somebody made off with more than 6 figures

The charity event was actually a local commerce conference / business meet up his dad had been doing for years maybe decades. I dont deny what The Completionist did was wrong. But facts matter as well.
Except it was a charity event every time they slapped the charity's name onto it. They had sponsors, and they had donors who were required to pay a certain sum to attend it. Considering there aren't that much costs involved with playing on a golf course they don't maintain, where do you suppose those money went to?

We have this data because people screencapped what was required by brands who attended the event to actually be considered a sponsor. They were paying upwards of 5 figures in some cases "for a good cause," so if that isn't a charity event, not sure what is.

Man, you did this shit in the general topic too. You start with the benefit of the doubt from completely the wrong conclusions and say you said it based on facts.

Except those golf events were made under the charity's name. It was family run, not Jirard run, and their revenue should've reflected that.

They're all missing nor were they listed under any expenses. You generally can't lie or misrepresent anything about charities in general, because they get tax breaks and other benefits, and now the government can get on your ass for it

They're still hiding a lot of money, and they didn't even donate all the money in their bank

It's pretty shit yeah. It's like he's just randomly god, and he gets to do a wish fulfillment revenge in the most violent way against the most comically evil people who have no reason to be that way

So it's like every other Isekais written in the post-SAO era. Shield Hero is similar and mid-SAO era, and it's also pretty bad in hindsight. Mushoku Tensei is actually good and was early-SAO. I don't think it predates SAO, but they started around the same time, and MT was actually already big in Japan, which is why it got such a high quality anime adaptation.

Basically what I mean to say it, SAO is to blame some way or another. It drove the wish fulfillment demand so far up the butt because people loved the idea of escapism more than many realized
