I worked 1st shift yesterday morning, then as I was leaving my manager told me he needed me to come back in last night. So, yay, surprise extra shift with almost no time to rest. >_<

Half an hour till I finally get to leave and get to bed.

No. I like to relax under the hot water for a while before I start washing. Then again after. It feels too good to just hop in, wash off, then hop out.

Definitely keep on top of that. I work at a hotel and most non refundable charges actually are. Even through 3rd party sites. Especially for screw ups like that.

I want to say absolutely not, that there's no way something like that could happen. Let alone more than once.

Then again, I take a look at all the blatant corruption and see how many people get away with incredible crimes. And it's really staggering what people with money and power can do openly. I can only imagine what's being done behind the scenes.

So, unfortunately, I no longer doubt that this could happen. Then the timing is incredibly suspicious. I think I have to lean towards "probably" as my answer. :/

I had that happen once.

He was one of the most violent people I was bullied by. I was always one of the smaller weaker kids, and he wasn't. So he liked to pin me against the wall and gut punch me, that kind of thing. I don't know what happened to him, but he vanished shortly after I started high school.

Then years after I was out of school I was working at a gas station. This guy comes up with tattoos all over his face, big surly looking guy, just kinda gave off the vibe that you don't want to mess with him. I didn't recognize him at all, so I just treated him like I would anyone else. After a couple of times of him stopping by he asked if I knew who he was. I told him no, and he told me. So I asked about his life and such after he left.

He thanked me for treating him nicely. Said that due to his appearance most people talk down to him or treat him poorly. He said I was one of the few people who had reason to dislike him, and that he was nervous to tell me who he was because he thought it might change how I treated him. But he was glad that it didn't.

He'd stop by and chat every once in a while and we were on friendly terms. Then the gas station suddenly closed with no warning and I haven't seen him since.

As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. Good on you for making that choice, and I'm happy it worked out for you.

I don't particularly need to feel useful, but I do need to feel accepted and being useful is the best way to do that. So 50/50 on that one I guess.

Quick fix, yeah I guess. I'm an anxious person, so having a looming problem gets to me. I want to fix it asap.

I wouldn't consider myself judgemental really, but I do easily get frustrated by people. Maybe that counts. I do have good intentions though, even when frustrated.

Spacial awareness. I think this is another anxiety thing. I tend to hyper focus on people, their actions, and surroundings looking out for potential problems to arise.

A million ideas per second. Again, I think it's an anxiety thing that gets your mind and heart racing.

But yeah, over all that looks pretty accurate.

Depends on what shift I'm working. It's a front desk hotel job, so it's easy enough even when I'm busy.

I generally only work 3rd shift, which usually isn't very busy. Maybe an hour or so if still checking people in. Then I have to do the audit at 3am, so like 20-30 minutes of paperwork. Then I have to set out the breakfast and start checking people out at the end of my shift. So id estimate maybe 2-3 hours of actual work and the rest is just being available to the guests when they need something.

1st shift is a bit busier, and I've had to do lots of those recently. I have to check everyone out, answer the phone all day, clean the lobby, file more paperwork, make the housekeeper list and keep that updated, and deal with early check ins. Sounds like a lot, but it's not a whole lot worse than 3rd. Maybe 4-5 hours of work, most of which isn't super demanding or only takes a few moments to handle.

Second shift though, I can't deal with that very often. My manager is aware of my social anxiety so he keeps me off that shift if possible. But on busier nights, it's basically a solid non-stop line of people. The full 8 hours, usually starting at the end of 1st shift and bleeding into the start of 3rd.

Thankfully so far this year hasn't been super busy. We've only sold out a handful of times, so it's not as bad on each shift.

That's great news. There's no doubt that he absolutely cherishes that you were there for him.

This is kind of a valid complaint though.

I recently watched a Youtuber named About_Oliver stream the game. His "shtick" is that he plays completely blind by turning chat off while he plays and refusing to look at wikis. He was able to beat Minecraft like this, but he got frustrated with Terraria after hard mode and ended up quitting.

It's interesting to watch the things he gets stuck on just going by ingame help.

I had something similar with my dad several years ago. I had just got home from work and was going to bed when Mom came and got me to help. Dad couldn't stand up and was out of his mind. I had to load him into Mom's car while he was semi conscious. Turns out he had a huge aneurysm in his aorta that ruptured. They said he only had a 2% chance of making it. He did pull through though.

Then it happened again a couple years later. He collapsed in the hallway. This time we recognized it and called 911. They ignored us when we were telling them it was his aneurysm. Then at the hospital they ignored Mom still and took their time checking him. Then once they did they immediately called for a med flight to take him to heart specialty hospital. Again, they said about a 2% chance to survive. Which he did.

The difference is that my dad has always been horrible to me, so it honestly didn't bother me all that much. Me and Mom have talked about it to each other, and we both feel like awful people for not caring more than he was dying. But at least we know that we still chose to help him despite all he's done to us.

Your dad is lucky to have someone like you who cares about him like you do.

During driver's ed class in high school, we had to put in our driving hours with our instructor. That happened during mine and my instructor wanted me to run them over. I refused and she got angry, but I didn't lose any points or anything.

It's happened a lot while my family is out, but only the once while I was the driver that I recall. There's several areas around where the geese like to hear each year so it's just the risk you run if you drive through those areas.

Today after work. It wasn't even a hard day or anything, it was a super easy day. But I got really tired when I got home and laid down. I fell asleep and woke up like an hour later, but when I went to get up it felt like I couldn't move. There was no energy, I almost fell over when I did manage to get up. I could barely manage to walk to the kitchen for a drink.

I was out like a light as soon as I got back to bed. Slept for 2 more hours and was still tired but not like the first time. I'm not sure I've ever felt so exhausted before.

A few times. I know they're likely not anything too unusual, but they were very strange and I don't know what it was that I saw.

Like, one time my brother and I witnessed a truck driving along the fence line between our property and theirs. That's not too unusual, but this time we saw them drive along a small pathway into the woods, then once they were on top of the hill in the woods, they turned on a bunch of lights, and then lifted into the air. It then flew over our house as a helicopter. We literally watched it drive into the woods as a truck, light up, then fly away as a helicopter. Besides that being bizarre, there's no way a helicopter could've taken off from where it did. We just call it the shape shifting truck because we have no other explanation. lol

Also, once we were heading out to town at dusk. As we approached the car, something in the sky caught our attention. It was very clearly an object silently flying over head. It looked huge, and it had an unusual shape. It was like a cylinder with protrusions at each end. We described it as a "dog bone" shape because that's basically the shape it was. It just flew overhead at a steady pace until it was out of sight over the hill like 30 seconds later. It didn't appear to be flying very high at all unless it was absolutely massive.

It was definitely something, but we've never seen anything similar, even in fiction or UFO videos and such. So, idk.

I love Terraria, one of my favorite games. But it can feel a bit stiff/clunky at first.

I love building unique bases and try to do interesting ones each playthrough.

I played it with my 10 year old cousin a while back and built him this mansion... That he calls "the prison" because he says it looks like one. >_<

Ah ok, that's the reason I had to for my old job. It was just janitorial work, but it was technically a government job. I thought it was strange for such a job.

Yeah, needed a background check for my old job. Had to go get them done.

Nah, but I have considered it.

I used to want black hair to match the rest of my family. But I never actually considered it as an option, just a thought.

Also, I have a lot of gray in my hair, so I've wondered about dying it to cover that up.

Dad nailed a few boards to the side of a tee and then put a couple to form a little platform. Had just enough room for one person to sit.

Me and my brother built our own in the woods though, it was more of just a shoddy platform between 4 trees. Only like 4 feet high too. lol

Hm, maybe that's why you don't interfere. It's not self defense just because you got scared. If he seriously thought it was a crime he should've called 911. "Protecting the innocent" by killing the innocent.

It seriously sounds like he was looking for a situation in which he could shoot someone and come out a hero. Especially considering the other incident where he followed a cyclist and called the cops saying he was going to shoot the guy. It really feels like he thought he found a crime that could cover his own, and it backfired.

Such an idiot. Not realizing that he's the danger people should've been wary of.

I'm doing my part. I've mostly stopped posting about how miserable I am.

I tried to do online dating a month ago for a few weeks for the first time ever. Paid for tinder and hinge premium features and let's just say, I'm going to die alone.

I always knew I was ugly, but GOD DAMN, I'm uglier than Quasimodo. I even tried paying to win, and I still lost hard. I felt my soul leave my body during those few weeks. It was better when I created elaborate stories in my head that the problem was my shyness, even if I knew deep down that was just one of my problems.

It's not just you. I tried dating apps off and on for a couple of years. Nothing more than a handful of short conversations happened. I agree that it's rather crushing, but that's the way it plays out for a lot of people. Especially the more reserved among us.

I've always thought it'd be interesting to get a game or movie based on her arrival and how she manipulated things back then. I'm imagining my some horror setting with a thing hiding out in the wilderness ready to kill, but could also be disguised as someone you know. The only indicator of its presence would be a gradual death of the surrounding environment.

Though, the games treat her as just another monster boss fight. Her backstory has always been the interesting part of the games imo.

I work at a hotel, and one of the housekeepers has schizophrenia and I have no clue how I'm supposed to interact with her. I just talk with her like I do anyone else, which already hard enough for me, but then she's talking about all this craziness she thinks is going on. And I don't know if I'm supposed to try and talk her out of it, or if it treating it like it's real will feed into things and make her worse.

She was fine when they hired her back, but she stopped taking her medication and went downhill quick. I always try and change the conversation, but it's like she's absolutely obsessed with her delusions. All the other employees treat her poorly because she's annoying, and I feel bad but I don't know how to help.

Glad I'm not alone lol and thanks! Taking things at fave value is something I struggle with. Sometimes I can't even tell when my fiance is joking with me. Glad I get the joke now though. Was the first time I'd seen it lol
