kind9 04/07/18 6:36:41 AM #20 | I agree Mechanical Animals is great. So is Antichrist Superstar(IMO his best album). But after those I feel like his music started going way down in quality. Holywood has its moments though. --- |
Topic | gimme a good comedy on netflix pls |
kind9 04/07/18 6:33:11 AM #31 | The Fundamentals of Caring. Even Selena Gomez's acting didn't ruin it for me. If you like stand-up I thought Ricky Gervais's Humanity was pretty good. --- |
Topic | Do you know how to use gender neutral pronouns? |
kind9 04/06/18 6:36:05 PM #56 | OmegaM posted... "My neighbor needs to get their act together!" sounds weird to me, but (hypothetically) I might not want to give out too much information about who I'm talking about. It would be easier to just say "My neighbor needs to get eir act together!" (or whatever). Why does "their" sound weird to you? --- |

Topic | Do you know how to use gender neutral pronouns? |
kind9 04/06/18 7:36:19 AM #33 | I learned in grade school in the early 90's that you're supposed to say they and them when you don't know a person's gender. I'm not going to call everyone that just out of political correctness or whatever. If I see someone who looks like a dude I'm going to assume they're a dude because they probably are a dude. --- |

kind9 04/04/18 12:10:51 PM #13 | Probably Spore. I liked the space stage but everything leading up to it felt half assed and tacked on. --- |
Topic | i want to make youtube videos again |
kind9 04/04/18 11:17:48 AM #5 | I think you can become moderately popular just by having a genuinely likable personality. I generally find "youtube stars" to be fake and obnoxious. --- |
Topic | i want to make youtube videos again |
kind9 04/04/18 10:44:47 AM #2 | Who knows? Everything I hate about youtube gamers seem to be the very things that make them popular. Like having a fake, forced personality, overreacting to every situation, and having a superfluous intro on every video. --- |
Topic | Man, heroin dealers are the scum of the Earth. |
kind9 04/04/18 10:08:41 AM #52 | RoboXgp89 posted... the only reason kratom is safe is because you'd get sick if you tried to get high on it The alkaloids in kratom trigger opioid receptors in the brain. It may not be as powerful as actual opiates but it sure as hell does get you high. Taking too much just makes you nauseous. You can get it in capsule form, or swish it around in water before swallowing. Nobody in their right mind swallows the dry powder by itself. --- |
Topic | Man, heroin dealers are the scum of the Earth. |
kind9 04/04/18 8:06:13 AM #48 | Meanwhile the FDA has their sights on kratom, which is a much safer, 100% natural, alternative to opiates and something that actually helps people recover from opiate addiction. --- |

I don't think it will happen either but I do believe they could do it if they really wanted to. Why they wouldn't want to is beyond me. I guess they just don't want to put more time, money, and effort into something that's probably going to be successful regardless. --- |

Topic | What is an actually 'good' video game story? |
kind9 04/03/18 7:13:22 AM #24 | I liked the stories in Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and SOMA. They may not be completely original but I think they were done very well. So I guess my criteria for good story is that it is integrated well and leaves an impression when it's all over. --- |
Topic | As unlikely as it is, I hope the next Elder Scrolls has |
kind9 04/03/18 7:02:15 AM #8 | Didn't they hype Skyrim up for having a dynamic snow system before it was released? I vaguely recall something like that and I assumed it meant that snow could build up and melt away, but obviously that wasn't the case. It had something to do with snowflakes being particles and not just a static effect. Anyway I think what TES games need most are what @Andromicus hinted at: better, meaningful quests and NPC interactions. --- |

Topic | What game would you say is the most improved sequel? (rules) |
kind9 03/26/18 10:21:31 AM #25 | Not exactly a mainstream popular game, but Riven: The Sequel to Myst > Myst. It has a much larger, more detailed world, with many more complicated puzzles and a better story. The main problem with Riven is that some of the puzzles can't be solved with logic. You literally have to get lucky and/or use a walkthrough to solve them. --- |

kind9 03/24/18 6:38:50 PM #4 | Year One. I thought it was hilarious and was surprised to learn that it was pretty much panned by everyone. It still has a 4.9/10 on imdb. I might be a little biased because I got a lot of enjoyment out of the DVD bonus features as well. --- |
Topic | So ABC remembers that animated movie "over the hedge" exists |

Topic | I really wanna start to play cities:skyline, but the learning curve seems high. |
kind9 03/24/18 11:13:02 AM #2 | It's not so hard unless you're trying to optimize everything for max efficiency, but that's not even a requirement. My favorite city builder is Anno 1404. It's got a medium learning curve but it's tons of fun when you get into it and start expanding to multiple islands and setting up trade routes for your ships. --- |

kind9 03/24/18 10:39:33 AM #8 | I use it almost every day. Something always pops into my head that I want an answer to and I usually get the answer pretty quick on there. I'm pretty sure the chance of stumbling into false information is extremely small. There have been studies, guys. --- |
