Like now that I'm not 21, when I drink to excess it never feels as crazy as it did, and the room never spins like it did.

Why?

What makes you say that?

Which part?

Dark is obtuse and the characters are meandering, even if you are patient with the foreign language. The whole show insists you care about it before it gives you any reason to do so.

As far as Justified. It's just god tier writing.

You can imagine somebody who is 18 seeing "Fight Club" finding it profoundly resonant and putting a poster of it on their wall. Why then would somebody who is 60, who has much more context for why it is a great movie not be similarly motivated? Why does it seem that the necessity of self expression of enthusiasm tapers off with age? Or does it not and I am oblivious in some way?

There is nothing anybody can say or do that gets me to actually react. Like I will respond to things, like a chess move, but never is it something where my feelings inflame and I speak up as a result.

You could present the most offensive thing in front of me and I would be perfectly capable of being silent about it.

So yeah, that's the current level of disassociation I exist at.

It sounds like this is something you really care about.

It is something I can objectively appreciate is wrong.

Caring about life is important, the idea that such caring just stopped is bad. I don't want to get to the point where I get used to it before I fix it.

Another example is there is no movies/porn I find too taboo or unsettling, it's just like "yeah whatever" to just about everything, even if objectively I can understand these things are supposed to be shocking or extreme.

I used to have extreme anxiety, so I assume this is a mechanism I've developed to disassociate to cope. But I think it's in overdrive.

I've been saying this for years. People gave him so much bs praise over TFA when it was actually pretty bad, at least with TROS nobody argues against me anymore. He is legitimately a hackfraud. He is entrusted with some of the biggest franchises ever but fundamentally does not understand writing/storytelling.

I thought i was going to be homeless/evicted and didn't feel anything, PUA ended up giving me 10k and I didn't feel anything.

I legitimately used to care more about if mario died in super mario world than I currently care if I become homeless.

This question is not about your objective assessment but your subjective emotional experience. Meaning if you feel less strong about something but believe it to be more important objectively you'd still vote for "feel like they matter less"

It's one of the core ideologies of this country. People believe in hard work and "personal responsibility" to a magical and religious degree. Sometimes it is religious with the whole prosperity gospel and the legacy of the protestant work ethic.

They believe so much in the system that may have produced successes for themselves or their family that they believe it has some magical ability to sort out the deserving from the non deserving. Wealth and high income is seen as good because it's assumed that they did something to earn it. Poverty is bad because it's assumed they did something to earn it. Class is seen as an indicator of personal moral fiber.

That's why with knowing nothing about the people being evicted and knowing that the economy was shutdown due to a pandemic, costing these people their ability to pay rent, posters still talk about personal responsibility, get a job, government handouts etc like these are normal times. Because if bad things are happening to you, it must be your fault, your poor character is merely being revealed by you losing your home.

Yeah, I hate people who think like this. And what's really weird is they don't seem to bristle about entitlement when companies lobby for tax breaks, loans, or just free money. The fact they never call that shit out makes me think they are just brainwashed. Because any person who sincerely believes in everything currently being a meritocracy would by definition not believe in company bailouts or golden parachutes.

People always want to punch down. It's bullshit.

Yeah, and unfortunately the only option most of us have is to go after the people one above us in the chain. Sure if people could do stuff to mess with lawmakers lives until they fix this shit, they should, but lawmakers have tons of bullshit layers of protection.

It's an ok strategy to say "Tenants should block landlords from fucking them, if this fucks landlords then landlords should fuck the people above them, and if they are fucked then they should fuck the people above them, until finally the lawmakers get fucked until they fix it.
