Depictions of self-harm can be extremely triggering for people with mental illnesses or have survived suicide attempts. Sorry to inconvenience you with a 1-second warning so that they don't have to unexpectedly see something that could put them in a truly bad place.
There are also a lot more people that have attempted suicide or self harmed than have nearly been murdered, at least I assume.

Anyone nominate Chrono trigger? It's this neat little game that actually got ported a few times, it's even pretty good on mobile! I had never even heard it it until a few years ago, and it's one of my favorite games!

They're both really bad movies that I enjoyed, but I voted a new legacy because the acting was light-years better.

Whats the order then?
Something like dune>God emperor>children>heretics>chapterhouse

With messiah slotting in the 1, 2, 3, or 6th slot depending on who you ask. And it's such a different book that it's not going to get a consensus. It is a fabulous book, but it's almost a different genre from the rest of the series.

Thats not to say the above list is absolute, but it's pretty darn close. God emperor is probably the only other one that really moves much in personal lists (primarily swapping places with dune), but no one doesn't love the original, so there isn't going to be much of any complaints of putting it first.

The dune books by frank Herbert are probably pretty close if you ignore dune messiah, which is just such a different book that there isn't really a consensus on where it lands.

So is it just the show that you dont like? Or the character as well?
I don't know if that's even a question I can answer? His desire to protect grogu and his adherence to the way are so central to the character that I don't know how you truly seperate them. Especially if you remove the parts of his character that are defined by being the lead in a western - being a gruff hero wandering around helping those in need and all that.

Din djarin is who the show needs him to be. If you put him in another show completely divorced from those things, is it even the same character anymore?

This show just struggles to have meaningful stakes. The dude has like 5 people on his team. And he supposedly represents the people of mos espa, who we never see him interact with outside of one tavern owner. And have no indication that they want or need him.

The show also has no self awareness of bobas complete and utter lack of any power or value to anyone. He's just some dude who has no followers or resources deciding he's in charge of shit. It's just not compelling at all.

Especially because tatooine is explicitly a worthless backwater nothing. Why does anyone even want to run spice there? It made sense for jabba as a place he ran shit with no oversight, but not as a place that had any inherent value of its own.

Not really. I really like Pedro Pascal as an actor though for whatever that's worth. I think he has his moments though. Personally I just don't like grogu because the pace of the show grinds to a halt when he is on screen. And I think the whole the way thing is some of the dumbest shit star wars has ever produced. And I hate westerns, so the format rarely works for me.

I just don't think the show is for me, which is fine. I'm just not sure why I keep watching it. Probably because I like the actor and star wars.

Watched it all and it just didn't quite click for me ever. I don't think it ever quite captured the manic energy the format really required. It was like watching the movie clue with only one ending, but the reveals at the end are tepid and reserved.

Will Arnette's character is great, but the rest of the show around him was played too straight for a comedy. When the guests match his energy it works well, but the improv nature made that inconsistent at best. Especially because the guests were often just playing themselves with a reality tv feel to it, which never quite clicks.

I enjoyed it, but I rarely found myself laughing or fully engaged. I think there's sort of an uncanny valley effect between Arnette's comedy, the world being played straight, and the reality tv vibe of the guests that leads to never settling in. In short it has a tone problem, and I think the format is more to blame for that than anything.

I'm happy with all the CG characters, they aren't perfect but I'm fine with it. I feel like the CG is less jarring (for me) than a re-cast.
For small cameos in tv shows it probably makes sense, because it would definitely be disorienting for viewers. If it becomes a larger role though I feel like it's them essentially handcuffing themselves to a mediocre recreation of a character.

While all that is (obviously) true.it only makes the direction taken by these last two episodes that much more bizarre.
Yeah we've had 6 episodes so far. The first 4 said, this is what the show is about. Everyone complained. The last 2 said hey, remember the mandalorian? You really liked that show right? This is that show now. Obviously they couldn't have done it as a reaction, but it's just a genuinely confusing decision.

I'm legit wondering if they didn't just scrap their initial plans and start throwing the next season of the mandalorian at us to try and keep people on board.

I wish they'd just recast Luke completely instead of doing this deep fake shit. I don't need to spend the rest of my life watching people and a cgi make a bad version of a young mark Hamill. Give someone else the part and let them make it their own.

How good are gaming laptops anyways? I don't tend to play top of the line games and I do need to replace my computer.
They're fine. I spent about a grand on mine and literally have no problems with it. Mine runs hot on certain games seemingly at random, such as the newer tomb raiders, but that's about it. If you are going to use the portability they are a great choice. If not, meh. I have mine hooked up to a monitor at all times and only use it as a laptop as anything more than a second screen when I am using the monitor for my work computer.
