Very proud of myself for making it to the gym today. I spent all morning and afternoon helping someone pack and move as their school is starting back after the lockdown. I got done around 5 and wanted to lift but was too tired and not motivated. But i found the WILL WITHIN aka just drank some preworkout so i was forced to go and actually had a very good workout. Got to do a lot of back stuff and saw some people i havent seen in months

You cannot even begin to imagine how little respect I have for repeated drunk driving offendors. The reason I felt no need to respond to his woes about needing that car to work is because I don't care. A repeated drunk driver to me is no different from repeated attempted manslaughter, they are the same calibur of individual.

I struggle with the 2nd paragraph because obviously drunk driving is a horrible act and doing it repeatedly is significantly worse, but alcoholism is a brutal disease and people like that need serious treatment. The fact that they repeatedly do it just shows that they cant stop and have lost control of their actions.

Now there is a major difference between the college kid who thinks he is invincible and just thinks hes going to make it home no prob and kills someone, versus the person who is gripped by addiction and cant stop without a massive external intervention. I dont have any respect for the former. The latter is harmful to society, but its more pity that i feel than disdain

That's great man. Getting in shape and discovering the real "you" is one of the most empowering feelings out there. My journey was a bit of the opposite. The opiates kept me at a pretty low weight and getting off them and all drugs/alcohol and making a lifestyle out of fitness was the first time in my life I ever felt like I was actually me if that makes sense

If im doing my normal amounts of workout my stomach is an endless pit. I have to obey it. When im not my appetite struggles with getting 3 regular meals and my weight hits what seems to be its floor at 170-175

I've always heard the body can't absorb much more than around 30 grams of protein at a meal, so the rest would be "lost". So it's better to consume a smaller amount (15-25 grams) of protein every few hours, rather than 80-100 grams all at once.

It aint about the protein homie. Its about stuffing delicious food in my mouth

I had 2 waffles and a banana for breakfast and then a smoothie and chicken sandwich for lunch

My quarantine appetite was maybe 2500 calories a day on average but my normal is 3500-4000

I lost some weight during quarantine because i couldnt sustain the weightlifting diet without as much weightlifting. Lost some muscle in the lats and chest but still kept up what i could!

Our idiot governor actually thinks 100 protestors is equally as safe as 10+ people gathered for a BBQ or a workout. I cannot move to the rural country fast enough.

I will say i was very skeptical about how it would go at mine but i actually felt VERY safe at my gym. They rearranged a lot so most everything is ten feet apart. People are maintaining their distance and wiping things down. Hopefully that wont be an issue and people will keep it up

A lot of these were just getting used to the bars and equipment again. Gonna be a process getting some of that muscle memory back. But man did it feel great to have a long workout there again. also tried just 1 light set of squats and deads for the hell of it just to see how they felt and woof

After months of doing at home stuff and using meh equipment during the lockdown it felt amazing today to move some real weight with top notch bars and racks. While i certainly worked out hard at home and actually got stronger on some exercises, i could tell pretty quickly on stuff like squats and deadlifts that ive got some serious ground to make up. Still, im just grateful to be back there as i definitely missed just being able to get away from my problems for a few hours each day and take it out on the iron

Im in VA, what are yalls states or locales doing gym wise?
