I am sure the cost would be a lot less without them.

I am into a few art mediums and a lot of the "complete range" sets all come in either lather or wooden boxes. I don't need those, I just need the _____. And my Omega watches come in this huge wooden box, again, don't need the hardwood box.

I know the cost of those "extras" varies but thats money that could be going towards more stuff.

Ok real answer is...collecting a real life yugioh card collection

I loved Yugioh back in the day. but now I find it sorta BS. They didn't control the power creep so now they even have pre constructed decks that are one turn wins... And if you have a deck that can't win by turn 2 its a pretty bad deck. At that point why even play a card game. Might as well paper rock scissors.

I've heard MTG players on average spend more money than Warhammer players, which sounds wrong to me but I don't know enough about MTG to dispute it.

It depends on the format. Standard decks can be 200-500 dollars but need to be renewed every expansion or year. Modern decks are more expensive but more stable and don't always need too be tweaked largely.

My Modern deck was about 1400 dollars, never needed to add more cards since I made it about 10 years ago. I mean there are some cards I could add if I wanted, but it wouldn't make that much of an improvement.

Kind of why I want to get into Battletech. They are fine with you using cardboard tokens for your army, or you can use miniatures. Even if you get into the miniatures, they are way less then Warhammer 40K (~$25 for a lance, less then $100 for a full company).

Downside is it doesn't have the broad rule-set or customization of Warhammer 40K.

Problem with Battle tech is they don't have all the mechs represented as a model.

A good mini game to look into is one of the Star wars ones. Either Legion or X-Wing. I really like X-wing. Armada is cool too, but you don't have as many ships and they all have dozens of upgrades you pick so theres a lot to keep track of.

Apparently theres sites where you can get a super detailed and larger model over the course of a subscription.

I know Adam Savage showed the car from Ghost Busters on his and I came across a different youtube channel with a Spitfire one. They seem cool, but even then they seem pretty expensive when its all said and done.

My favorite Ramen shop closed down due too Covid, but it was a perfect storm for them. They were open for a ridiculous amount of years(I know it was over 35) For the first time they closed for remodel, for about 5 months and then Covid happened. If they didn't close for remodel they might have been able to make it, but they couldn't really do what they were known for(huge bowls of ramen) as take out and so since it lined up so well they had to close for good.

I mean there's some that I still like. Mostly ones with short stories to tell like a hostage situation, ONE army battle, the occasional love story how they met, you know single event type stuff.

But more and more movies I see and watch I think they would be so much better as a mini series(I hate shows that drag out)

Best mainstream example would have been Harry Potter, I would have loved each book being a short season instead of movies. I recently watched Awakenings for the first time and feel that also would have been better as a short mini series.

Alot of movies live me waiting for more story, not necessarily a continuation, but more meat to the story told, if that makes sense. I mean sure you can say there is an artform to telling a story in 1 and a half to 2 hours, but I want more meat to it.

Valves skin system in CS go is ludicrously rigged.$2.50 per case and you only get one skin and it is maybe a 1/50 chance of getting a rare skin and about a 1/200 chance of getting a knife or gloves. The EVs a are stupidly rigged. They compare themselves to trading cards, but trading cards give you 8 or so cards per pack with a gaurenteed chance of a rare. Even mystic rares are 1/8. The EVs for skins are a joke.

Wizards of the coast is currently on a fine line with their stuff since technically, and they would never admit it, it's gambling. More so since some of their cards can come out instantly at 60-100 dollars.

EA is the typical standard price with MTX of items that are sometimes needed to play higher levels "Skill" and takes advantage of people who have addiction problems.
Games Workshop is the best example of, you gotta spend hundreds, if not a thousand dollars to "dip your toes" into it.

However I don't think I can ever understand the Free players who bash those that buy premium stuff in F2P games. I can see when its a pay to win, however theres plenty of free games where the premium stuff means nothing. Those I don't get. I mean those people are literally keeping the game running, so how can someone honestly bash someone for supporting the game they play?

I mean I will admit, back when I was making a lot more money I was a whale on a few games. But EVERY free game I play that I like I will buy something, just to give them something to help support them, Granted that was hard when PoE first came out.... those cosmetic packs weren't something I was into at all.

Now I am not bashing on people who don't put any money into the game at all, thats their choice and maybe they can't afford it, so good on the companies to offer their games for free. But I don't understand how you bash other people who ensure the thing you like is still there.
