I'll say Mid Fodder for Tom. Tom is definitely considered the main character of his series ahead of Jerry, and the prevalent opinion that Jerry is the villain will only benefit Tom. Like Looney Tunes, a lot of Gfaqs likely grew up on Tom and Jerry reruns. There have been quite a few Tom and Jerry games too - though only Fists of Furry for the N64 is likely to be remembered.

Mid Fodder for Porky as well. He hasn't had the popular starring roles that Daffy had, but he is notable for appearing at the end of every Looney Tunes short to say his catchphrase. And he's just a funny character in general, who's played the likable sidekick to just about every popular Tunes character.

For Liberty Prime - I don't think the current format of match pics will allow him to stand out due to his size (40 ft tall robot). And it seems like he is less of a character in the Fallout games than he is a giant plot device that plays pre-recorded propaganda. So I'll say Low Fodder.

Mid Fodder for Akechi. He seems to be decently well-liked by P5 fans for his role in the story and general character, and some of his memorable moments like delicious pancakes.

I will say Low Fodder for Gestahl - I don't think many people will really care for him, seeing as Kefka is widely known as the big villain of FF6 and not old man Gestahl.

I don't think Solus will be able to clear Low Fodder. A sizable part of his story was prior to or in the vanilla FF14 release, which I don't think is very well-known. Plus he's a villain who is only fought in one expansion and doesn't have the design to really bring in votes.

For Daffy Duck I will say High Fodder. While not as iconic as Bugs, Daffy is pretty popular in his own right, mostly as a foil to Bugs. He has Space Jam like other Looney Tunes, but also got some of his own games and a popular spinoff in Duck Dodgers.

Nurse Joy feels to me like a character who will get all of her strength from the Pokemon anime, since she really doesn't do anything besides run the Centers in the games. I'll say Mid Fodder for her purely due to the waifu potential, which Brock likely inspired in viewers with his own infatuation with Joy.

I will say Low Fodder for Serena. Unless I'm missing something that would make her a fan favorite, she seems like a fairly standard JRPG healer/bard and doesn't stand out much to me.

I will say Mid Fodder for Noob. While he has a reputation as an overly-edgy character, his design is rather muted and he's got some cool moves. Plus he's got the iconic MK ninja design and his name stand out Tobias Boon, heh

I will go Mid Fodder for Splash Woman as well. I think she is still the only female robot master and has a stand-out classic Megaman design. She'll definitely have the support of a lot of series fans due to the unique niche she occupies.

Yosuke I think will also be Mid Fodder, barely. While some people may dislike him due to moments of gay panic he displays in-game, there's a reason fans refer to him by the name "Brosuke". He supports the player at the beginning of the game and almost always backs him up from then on, and displays a lot of depth at times.

LAW Fodder for Amicia de Rune. As far as I can tell, A Plague Tale made zero impact on Gfaqs so I don't know how its characters would be worth anything even if the game is "relevant" right now.

Low Fodder for Mulder. He'll get some nostalgia votes and is somewhat recognizable, but he's no Buffy.

Agree with Axem's ratings.

Buffy could get a decent amount of nostalgia votes, and the series was likely relevant here once upon a time. Potentially supported by an ancient poll:

Advance Wars hasn't seen a new entry since 2008 and Andy is just one of many playable characters. Definitely couldn't see him being worth much.

Jerry will probably only get nostalgia votes from Gfaqs who grew up on reruns of the show, and some apathy votes. No one really likes the mute jerk anyway.

I'd take Mai over Kasumi easily. DoA doesn't seem to have much of a fanbase left on the site, while SNK at least has a small one. And Mai's are bigger.

This is a topic to rate the contest strength of potential newcomers in the current contest environment.

I will pick the characters to rate and discuss for each day from user nominations - whoever the 3 most nominated characters are at that time. If there are more than 3 I will pick randomly. You can nominate any number of characters at any time, but you cannot nominate the same character twice.

All characters who were present in the 2018 Character Battle will NOT be eligible. Otherwise you can nominate any character that has appeared in video games; even comic book characters. This will exclude real-life athletes who have only appeared in long running sports series, however I will accept those who have their own games such as Shaq. I will accept nominations for iconic gaming duos too, if there is a compelling reason for both characters to be linked (either co-starring in a game ala Banjo & Kazooie, or always appearing together like Callie & Marie from Splatoon).

Each day will have a separate topic, and nominations will carry over. As far as actually rating the character's contest strength; I ask that users rank a characters potential strength with one of the following qualifiers - LAW Fodder, Low Fodder, Mid Fodder, High Fodder, Fodder Line, Low Midcarder, Midcarder, High Midcarder, Near Elite, Elite, LAW Tier (capable of beating Link). I will average all the ratings given to a character to come up with their final ranking. I have included a highlighted entrant from Character Battle X on each tier of the strength rankings below, to provide a baseline for each.

Note that LAW Fodder is meant to be a tier reserved for the weakest possible characters to put into a contest. A character will only be placed there if at least 3/4ths of the voters for that day agree on the LAW Fodder rating, and no ratings above Low Fodder are given. If either of those conditions are not met, the character will not be eligible for the LAW Fodder tier.

Re-Rank Mai Shiranui. Gfaqs doesn't have a very large SNK fanbase, and it is asking a lot of TJF to bump Mai up to high fodder, even when said TJF is iconic.

Cid I think will be able to hit Mid Fodder. The "Cid" name is pretty iconic for the FF series, and I think fans do generally like this Cid. I'm not sure if his design will go over well but it will certainly stand out.

For Shadow Queen, I assume her match pic will be her true form and not the Possessed Peach form. I don't think voters have any reason to care for her outside of that alternate form, so I will say Low Fodder.

Edge I will put at Low Fodder. He has the advantage of being a ninja, but I think that's all he'll get. I don't think fans of FF4 like him that much due to some of his hot-headed and misogynistic behavior in the game.
