Like, I could probably translate some doraemon comics for you reasonably quick but I'd need about an hour to translate a handful of seinen 4koma. It's Japanese (in text form, primarily) that's the challenging part. Like, just entry level speaking, you'll learn several variations of "I, me" speaking that have different levels of formality. But when reading and writing, you'll also have de aru introduced which is an even more formal version of that and besides narrators and one of the guards that follows Flynn around from tales of vesperia, you'll never hear anyone speak like that. While it's easy enough to get that, that's also entry level knowledge. Look up a kanji database and study how certain characters (kanji and otherwise) preceding or following kanji can change them entirely. Hence why I am better at following along by listening rather than reading the dialogue in games. --- Pew pew! |

There's a handful of puns that involve reading a kanji in either of its potential readings. And the way they're read isn't like read (past tense) and read (present tense) but could be like, (person's name, a flower, close companion). Then factor in the cultural differences and phrases that don't translate well or at all, and it can be very difficult to convey a lot of things even for short text excerpts. I can only really make do in games if they're full of katakana and hiragana, dating sims I can somewhat follow but only by audio. Text wise, it is a very time intensive task to actually learn. --- Pew pew! |

Dustia chaining lets you do it, and I did the same with that nightmare rare spawn in the necrohol. | gunplagirl 07/21/18 7:48:41 PM #25 | There were 4 chests The elixir chest in the palace (one time only visit) One inside the nalbina prison room where you get your inventory back (one time only visit) One outside old dahlan's house One in the 16 chest formation on the phon coast (which also directly links to the 16 chest formation you'd find the spear in, since you can only open one for either location and the other would disappear, going for dark matters or knots of rust was the preferred one for yiazmat 1-3 hit kills via rust dark matter overflow abuse) So basically, you just have to avoid 3 early game chests and one that appears in the area after the salikawood which grants access to the necrohol. --- Pew pew! |

Not that anybody would reasonably head that direction unless they backtracked to finish some hunts after getting there. Yagyy darkblade, the masamune I think, and I threw a seitengrat on the ranged person who I'd manually control to toss out items. But I also assigned roles to those who had the best stats and animation times for such things. For certain things like gun attack animations, the difference between the fastest and slowest animations (which ultimately affected how fast they could attack) was like 0.4 seconds. That adds up, especially against some of the damage sponges you'd face. --- Pew pew! |

The drop rates are about the same but chests are nominally buffed in consistency, and the x2 speed made resetting areas for chest farming so much faster. In the zodiac age, the x4 speed was so much better to that effect, and grinding in general except against rare spawns and the like that required specific strategies to defeat --- Pew pew! |

If you didn't, it will never come from that chest In the zodiac versions, it has a 1% chance of spawning the chest but it always contains the zodiac spear (no idea if it is affected by diamond armlet or not) There's people who legit (ie no RNG or frame abuse) got 2 and one even got 5 through this method on the vanilla xii boards. Somebody else abused frames and stuff trying to get a 99 full inventory of all items in the game you can get multiple copies of, and that was pretty terrifying even if you RNG abused for the things --- Pew pew! |
